Have you thought of sending this to Rick Snow and having "HIM" sending it in on your behalf (either NGC or PCGS)...(I went with PCGS because of their resale) and after it grades out...have him put his Eagle Eye seal on it...?
Before you send it in...get in touch with him...send him some pic's...ask for his opinion...he did write the book...just saying (very nice guy)
funny...I even had it in the topic headline (29) and forgot about it because it was long ago that I first posted this... I'm such a knucklehead...lol Thanks again! smat
@barryg... Thank you very much for your reply! Do you think that your 1929 vs her 1928 ( I kinda like that yours defines "Wayne" largest county in Michigan.) but then again it could just be Wayne Bank instead of "county"...idk enough about paper...? I'm pretty sure yours is a grade better...at least... Thanks again for your pics and follow-up! smat
I was looking at the PCGS plate coins for both PR coins and MS coins. Besides the die markers (which I can't see on OP's coin based on pics), I noticed a distinct difference in the middle of the ear which blends/fades into the hair. Notice the top of the ear on MS coins are not as detailed as the PR coins. Also, the first hair lock on top of the MS coin is not as detailed as a PR coin. Now again...this was just looking at PCGS plate coins for comparison. My first thought when I saw OP's coin was PR. I think Grandpa was correct! Great coin! smat
Hopefully it was part of your NGC subscription package submission to absorb the cost of submission... Learning is fundamental...but still frustrating! I've done it PLENTY of times... Apparently...I'm very fundamental...or just mental ; )~ smat
come on come on... it's very rare that a member here will scalp you without telling you that they are also interested... Good eyes have good eyes... Good luck and I hope it doesn't get run up! Share a pic if you get a minute. smat
That 82 CS is period perfect! I have a Brother-in-law that worked for Guardian Glass here in Detroit...he said Imperial was a major competitor. I'm guessing this came from a strong proud employee of Imperial! I really like this thread...your dedication to history and investigative work keeps me intrigued... I look fwd to your posts! Thank you for all you contribute! smat
A friend of mine has some notes they are thinking of selling. Because I'm note a paper guy...told her I would post them for her to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks for looking and comments! smat
