Nice photos, the only one I see that would warrant the grading fees would be the 1881 cc. However I personally wouldnt submit it, not much of a price jump from ungraded to grades ms61-ms64. The value would start to jump around a ms65 & up. However I dont believe your coin has any chance at a ms65. Would not crack any of the gsa's out as mentioned above. If you have a shop nearby you could maybe use their membership & send along with one of their submissions if you want to save on the fees. I personally prefer PCGS to Ngc.

Also to the CCF

Just got this in hand, the obverse is a little nicer & the reverse is about as expected. The scratch on the reverse is not nearly as noticeable as it is in the pics. The slanted photo has some glare. The edge lettering is super crisp, very neat. Overall happy with the coin... now back on the hunt for a capped quarter for my typeset

Thanks everyone!

Looks like there may have been something previously attached to the center of the reverse. Maybe a loop but the coin is too large to be made into a button. Maybe something that turned the coin into a brooch pin to be worn on a lapel.

Interesting, that might be it!

Great coins ! I've always liked the libertads, but do tend to prefer the older design. I also really enjoy the scale design.

The variety looks like BB-169. I would have thought perhaps closer to G details, but always a nice type coin to have!

Thanks! Yes the reverse is quite worn, but I felt the obverse had enough "meat" left. Appreciate the variety attribution as well.

Just picked this one up off the bay. As a type coin collector I've always wanted one. This one looked decent (not holed) and was priced imo decent ($850). I don't know much about varieties. What are your thoughts? Seller & Ngc pics (Graded VG details Cleaned), will post in hand ones when it arrives. (dot near the 4th star on the in hand pics is most likely on the holder but can confirm later)

I've always been a distant admirer of ancients, specifically the Shekel of Tyre, Athena Owl, Greek Tortoise, and others. However, due to their pricey nature & my ongoing collecting projects I've never decided to purchase one. But the other day I decided to slightly dip my toe into the ancient's world (and I'm a sucker for these ANACS holders ) & purchased this Denarius. Got it off of the ol fee bay for $110, I really don't know if thats a good price or a huge overpay, but I like the coin. However I really don't know much about it, so thoughts / history or a link to an online resource would be much appreciated.

I have very little interest in the jefferson nickel series, however I find the proof war nickels interesting & so purchased 2 of them. I think they ran me around $100-$120 each for a pf65 ogh & a pf66 pcgs. I don't see myself getting anymore of the proof series. Would much rather finish my proof mercury set.

If I had $500 laying around & needed to spend invest, I would get a Albany Commemorative half & a Capped bust quarter. But I feel I would have a tough time staying on track

Yes this coin appears counterfeit. The overall appearance is wrong, very soft. Date & motto look like the wrong font & are very mushy. The center weakness / softness. Reverse also looks off & has a very soft center..
