I read somewhere that MAD is only on one side of the coin. I am not understanding this correctly?

Hello,

I bought three Morgans and two of them have the same issue. It appears there is a problem with the rim. I am looking for your input. Since I'm learning, I'd like to know what this is (is it a mint error?) and what causes this happen. Does it occur when the planchet is made when the die is made or in the striking process. Thank you. I appreciate the feedback.

Hi I am looking to get information on this coin. 1) Is this a repunched date? 2) Is it a 8/7? 3) Is there doubling on the front of the nose area? Any information is very helpful as I'm learning about coins. Thank you in advance.

Hello all,

I am need of some expert opinions! There are three marks on the obverse of this coin that appear to be similar - some larger some smaller, one on the face and 3 or four on or near the two stars in front of her neck and chin. Is this considered a clash or something else. Also on the reverse by AME there appears to be another indentation. Thank you so much for helping understand what is happening on this coin.

Hello everyone. I hope your summer is going well. I recently came into possession of a bunch of older coins that were in flips that were pretty old as well! I have several Indian head and wheat pennies, that are blackish in color (see pic) and several V and Buffalo nickels that are dark brown color. (see pic). I am trying to understand what causes this and if there's anything I can do to make them look "normal" or should I leave it. Thanks to all in advance.

Hello hoping for some guidance and/or opinions on markings on my coin. This is suppose to be a business strike uncirculated coin. Here are my questions: a) the mintmark - is this doubling? b) The marks on the face and neck - is this finger feed- or grease? c) the spots that look like staining on the lower neck. d) is the coin off struck the collar doesn't look even around the coin e) the bump under the O in dollar on the collar is this a considered a gouge or cud?

Lastly - can anyone recommend a good book or website that has all the kinds of marks we see on coins?

Thank you so much for the educational lesson!

Hello all, I found this 2018 S proof coin - I think reverse proof? Wondering what your thoughts are on the Mintmark and Motto - appears to have some doubling. On the reverse, I've put some red arrows on the trees. What are the marks on the trees. Lastly, is there an issue with the collar - doesn't seem the same all the way around the coin. I appreciate your feedback.¢

Hello,
I found this coin in a Loomis roll I got from the bank. I think it's a 1993 D but maybe you guys can tell me as I can't read the last digit. I'd like your feedback on what is going on with this. Since I'm learning, I'd appreciate if you could point out what the errors are - if they are errors or damage or what.

I so appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Hello, I found what appears to be possibly a proof strike 1974 Quarter. It is very shiny. The mintmark seems to be to overstruck or perhaps double struck. Wondering if anyone agrees. Thanks for taking a look.

Hi, I am new to this. I am wondering what people think of this coin - the front has some issues with the mint mark and liberty. The reverse is kind chewed up. What are your thoughts on the causes of the reverse. Also, if anyone can point out what type of errors are on the front. I just learning and any comments are appreciated.
