Yes, I do believe the edge is incuse and will look like doubling but is not.

Letters and date are pretty worn and impeding on the rim and showing flattened look because of being worn down. Your coin is worth five cents with no errors on it.

The old soda machines had glass bottles which were facing toward you and had metal caps. You could just use bottle opener, pop the cap off and drink away, just bring your own cup.

Yes die chip and the other disfigurement in the field is just grease that was on coin when struck. No value added.

A quarter tried to merge with the penny, making a 26 cent piece, could not do it but left its mark. You will see many more attempts on other coins as well. Maybe one day it will be successful and create a mule.
