The second coin in your post seems to be a Roman coin of Vespasian, from Egypt. Similar to this one. https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/ma...Default.aspx

Number four is from Tibet, not ancient, probably minted in the 1900s

The third and fifth one are also Egypt, but a little earlier, Ptolemaic Egypt.

Number six is Byzantine.A follis as indicated by the letter M

Seven and Eight are both late roman bronzes

Nine appears to be a Roman Antoninianus, but also appears to be an ancient counterfeit since a base metal core seems to be showing thru a silver plated exterior.

Ten might be a Judean Prutah from the time of the Jewish revolt, maybe like this one.https://www.cointalk.com/threads/th...dent.292881/

Eleven looks like may be a "widows mite" coin. Also from Judea.

To get more precise IDs, clearer and better focused pics will be needed. But I hope this helps.

Japan had the Shu and the Bu coins, both of 20-30% gold in silver

Old Silver Coin/Bar From Japan ? (Likely Fantasy Mameita Gin)

At this point I'm thinking it might be just a privately made silver bar of some type, or maybe an above mentioned regional clan piece. It does not look simular to any of those "fantasy pieces", this one is just too plain and crude in construction. It does appear to have been used in commerce at some point considering it has been cut down in size. The previous owner did think they had something, just too bad they didn't write out the whole title of the reference book, not just its initials.

I would suggest that if you have access to an XRF, then acquire a few Mexican coins of that era and run your own analysis and do a direct comparison. Sounds like your looking for the trace impurity's that probably won't show up on an official alloy spec of the era considering they didn't have the ability to check those impurity's back in the day.

The piece does appear to be cast and hammered into shape, those marks on the back side appear to be from that process. Nothing I see on eBay look anyway close. Also the bar appears to have been cut in half.

Got this from a dealers "ancients" bin. The only clues I have are what's written on the flip, but googling those terms comes up with mostly hits on Japanese gin. Anyone have an idea what book they might be referring to at the bottom where it says S&V pg 77?

2 things would worry me about this coin if I were looking to buy it, one is the details around the eye, compare this one to the example posted on the NGC site.https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide...uid-1430825. The eye on your example looks empty in comparison. Second is I get suspicious when I see a large coin such as this with absolutely pristine fields, even the uncirculated one in the link above has some bag marks. And also upon further inspection the dentils get fully weak on the reverse from 7 to 10 o'clock and overall do not have the best shape, again compare to the above link.

I think it's most likely 1525, that section of the legend is in pretty poor shape.
Anyone have a guess on the value of this coin?. I'm seeing some pretty high auction amounts on these coins, even for ones in similar condition.

I'm not sure where to start on this one, it is approx 14mm across. The guy who sold it to me thought it was a hammered English penny due to the cross on the reverse, but I doubt that.

Thanks all for the replies, the reason for my question is that I recently bought an Unidentified coin, just marked "Rome". As it turns out it is one of these coins, and I've been trying to determine a value.
I know these are not the best pictures, but will anyone care to give an opinion?

These coins are normally listed as very rare and these are the only two I could find right now listed for sale. The first is in very fine shape and the seller is asking 12.7K, the second is badly scratched but the seller is still asking 3K, reduced from an original asking price of 7.5K.
Are these coins really worth that much, or are these sellers just dreaming?

The center character that you refer to is the mintmark of the coin, Krause does show and identifies each mintmark at the beginning of the Chinese section
