Mine came today as well. I'm very impressed with the quality. I can't find a single flaw on these unlike the 2021's. Very beautiful coins. I think they are a great tribute to the originals.
I'm excited. A few years ago the thought of owning a pf 69 or 70 Morgan and Peace dollar was an impossibility. They may not be from they classic series but they are still a really cool and historic design. I can't wait. Maybe a flowing hair proof 70 next?
I have many Morgan's that are prooflike or deep mirror prooflike on one side. Almost always the obverse. A couple are beautiful dmpl cameo on the obverse and either frosty or less prooflike on the reverse. I like to track my values on a spread sheet. These are raw Morgan's. I usually use catalog value for the least PL side and add the "+" grade value. An example is a choice bu common date with a dmpl obverse and PL reverse I will use the ms-63+ PL value.
Does this sound reasonable? Does anyone else have a different method to value one sided Pl Morgan's?
Beautiful Saint Gaudins! Everybody needs one. My daughters boyfriend gave me a box of coins left in a house he bought that the previous owners left behind. Nothing as nice as your haul but some cool old mercury dimes, a few Morgan and Peace silver dollars and a bunch of miscellaneous coins and mint sets. You should redo this poll with only the top two choices. If other (non USA) Morgan's are eliminated I would vote in the USA moderns. The poll would likely be a toss up then I bet.
While I'm really happy with my new coins I really miss the cartwheels. They just don't look quite right. Is the mint unable to reproduce the original look?
