Hello everyone,
Haven't handled one of these before; weight and diameter are right.
I know many of this date were sea salvaged; anyone that knows more about these know if the wear on the obverse suggests that?
I bought it with some bullion silver at prices I normally pay so I'm not concerned about value, just curious about the coin.

I bought this today along with some 90%.
It weighs 1.90 grams; the diameter is right.
Why would anyone fake a non-key date (this date is obviously illegible) mercury dime?
The seller also had some obviously fake seated liberty coinage he was convinced was real - he also though this merc was real.
Thoughts would be appreciated!

I went to a great coin shop in bologna, Italy today... The information is below.
Decent selection of American gold (1/4 ounces around 3-4% over melt; some half ounce AGEs and some common date pre-33) and I bought out his constitutional silver at a few dollars back.
The other coin shops in bologna (except ranieri numismatics which I did not have a chance to visit - there was a line!) were more typical for Italian coin shops (ie €100 for a worn Franklin half; €18 for a 64 Kennedy half); although surprisingly, one of these shops must have priced their coins at double melt 20+ years ago so I was able to buy a few 64 Kennedy halves for under €10, but this is only because they were likely sitting in the flips since 2005.
Anyway, here's the only shop I would recommend visiting in bologna Italy. (You'll need some basic Italian and be prepared to negotiate a bit).

Hello all,
I contacted the seller and he said the coin has sold. He was asking €3,000. After slider's side-by-side and a few other comments I was prepared to pass and wrote the seller so after, he replied the coin had sold.
It's the wild west over here....so I appreciate all of the comments!!
Best,
