Phil310, congratulations on your 1000 post and thanks for being on this forum! What a great help you are with your knowledge you bring on the 1859 Large Canadian Cents!!
Wow ironhorse and Spence you guys are right on the ball! The tulip like Rev. I believe is what it is but the obv. lets to the imagination! Thanks for your quick replies.
It's been a long time since I have been on this forum. Today I was going through junk that I have and I pulled this piece. It is very crude. Blacksmith coin maybe? I don't know what it is. A Token,. Roman coin, ship Wreck coin? Does any one on this forum know by this really bad image what it could be? I don't even know which way to turn it. Upside down upside up who known. I know it's not even worth saving!
Thanks Hounddog Bill! With all 3 that I had and every one had the Die Chip in the upper ball of the first 8, I kind of figured that all 1888 must of had that Die Chip. That answered my question.
Thank you the_sifu and fourmack for sharing your photos and thank you Terry T for your comments. Any one else that have comments or any explanations for these 1888?
For those that collect small 5 cents. Here are photos of 3 different 1888's. that I have. Is this and anomaly or do all 1888 have this die chip on the upper ball of the first 8?
Photo #1 looks like the first 8 took a hit, but looks like it also has that die chip on the first 8 and also has a (hat) on the last 8? Any comments would be appreciated!
Ok this is not my coin and I don't have it in hand so would this be post mint damage or did the cracked planchet cause this? Any comments would be appreciated MG
