Hi all
found this little kritter in may pocket change and have questions.
All the Half Frances in have are a silver colour, not sure of the terminology and some very early ones that I know are part silver.
1. Is this coin just had its day and the plating rubbed off
2. Was it mis- minted on a different planchet...bronze or base metal or ?'
3. Could someone have misused this coin with the intention of misleading
4 It weighs the same as a silvered Half Franc...2gr

Thank you to all and the links provided. As I thought it has to be total madness at 300-400,00 for this type of coin.
I am still learning and purchased a whole load of English coins...pennies 1900 +++ and from what I have gathered silver coins back to 1940/60s.
The pennies came out of this batch....so I was surprised...not that I believe everything on UTUBE
Once again many many thanks

Hi to all

I have seen on Utube so many different valuations and sales of these coins. I do understand that condition counts. These are in very good condition with no rubbing and scratches.
My question is are these that valuable as they say...300-400,000 ?
Sounds ridiculous to me.
Thanks for looking.
