That 2021 would be hard to turn back from, was a great sell out. I could still probably get a replacement on this.
Man with everything else going on from the mint this year, it's beginning to look like just getting a refund is the way to go. I wouldn't be saying this is the coin was problem free. For an about $900 premium, a buyer should expect a perfect coin.

My coin has the finning, can see it must by the TED in UNITED. Called the mint, they'll take it back if course. Sitting on the fence as far as checking refund or replace. Not sure, I have the weekend to think about it.

Love the medal. The coin should be here tomorrow it sounds like.
Love the added detail of the COA where the tree image is more like a photo than a drawing.

The SILVER version is technically a medal as it is not denominated.

There are several differences between a coin and medal beside the lack of denomination on a medal. The medal will also lack "In God We Trust". I believe also "E Pluribus Unum" is required on a coin. Unsure if the reeded edge is required, I know the 2023 medal does not but the coin does, however a cent also does not and some of the modern dollar coins also do not.
Also the orientation of the obverse is different between a coin and medal, I think that is by law, coin is oriented up/down, the medal is left/right.

Your might have seen the post I made about my Morgan obverse in Liberty's ear. Seems like the same type of "fault", if you can call it that. I will look at the Peace dollar I have for this. But yes it's hard to get an image of. In person it's very easy to just tilt the coin around in natural or artificial light.

Thanks. It's one of those things that doesn't really jump out at you, your have to be changing the angle line we all do when looking for flaws or just admiring the coin, you hold it just right and I saw this little flash that seemed out of place, it shouldn't be shiny there.
I had mentioned somewhere, I don't think here, that this actually could be a good idea for an anti counterfeit feature, I shiny spot in a selected location, maybe even make it a specific shape like a star? Maybe people works be turned off by the appearance. Maybe it could be incorporated into the edge, might be harder to duplicate than a missing reed.

Sorry for the delay, injured my knee and have been off work, should have tried getting the pictures then, I had the time but had to ice and rest. Went back to work yesterday.
There are a few other bright points in the field area, this is just normal flash effect. It was really hard to get this flash point in a picture, lots of experimenting with zoom and distance. Too close and the shade of the camera would prevent the flash point from occurring. But just that bright spot in her ear is what I mean. I suspect a chip in the die?
I had to pull it out of the capsule to get a picture of it at all, which is something I rarely do. No way I get a picture in the capsule, I found that out!

Wondering if this is something similar to all 2023 Morgan proofs or just mine.
Examining in normal light, you can see it with the unaided eye but really shows up under magnification, sort of a glint in Liberty's ear, I would describe as in the "bowl" of her ear towards the top. It just doesn't seem like it would be some sort of damage, based on the location.
I could try to get this in a picture.

Umm, how many different 2023 Peace dollars have been released so far?

2, the Philadelphia Uncirculated and San Francisco proof. I believe the reverse proof is also San Francisco. So there will be 3 of the Peace and Morgan in 2023. I am still really curious if they do the same next year. I think you can get the subscription for all of these that carry into next year, but will they actually do it? I wish the mintage limits were a little lower. Maybe change things up, make it so you have to subscribe?

Got home early, took a half day of from work for this. Was going to take the whole day off, but trying to keep up on projects at work. So I left work about 45 minutes before the drop.
Got home, made coffee, log in to my account about 5 min prior to the drop, expecting to be put in the wait room.
No wait room.
Went to the gold coin, had the "remind me" button.
Was thinking I somehow messed up and it's sold out already, but I knew that couldn't be.
I did see a red add to the bag for what I thought was this year's silver Liberty medal, so added that to the bag, thinking the Mint has really messed up and offered the silver medal early. Wrong, it was the 2022 that's still available.
Watched the time and kept refreshing. At 11 (Central) the gold went to "add to the bag", got to my cart and checked out no problem
Realized I had bought another 2022 silver.
Decided WTH, I'll get the 2023 medal anyways, so hopped back in and bought one. People say they'll be more popular than the 2022.
So I'll need to decide about what to do with the other medal. Just really odd about no wait room for these today.

If you want you could add your dad to the Purple Heart site I mention above.

Thanks. I went to that site and searched and didn't see him there. I do have his service records with the dd214, so that's not a problem.
Luckily the Marines records are with the Navy, so not lost in the fire I read about that wiped out so many records.
I got the records a few years back.
I had to fill out an affidavit that I was related to who I was requesting the records for, which had to be notarized.
The lady at the bank said she could notarize the form, just bring it in.
So I did that and she looked at the form and started asking questions and I explained it to her. She said well she's "not going to charge me for notarizing this!". Really choked me up.

My dad in Korea. This was getting awarded his first Purple Heart. He always stressed that you don't really get more than one. It's "the order of the Purple Heart". They may give you second one. His service records indicate "Purple Heart with gold star". It may be a Marine/Navy thing. His had the gold star on the ribbon. Obviously wounded twice in combat, both times out on night patrol.
They sent him back up on the line after the second time. The company chaplain saw him and thought that was the second time he got hit so he asked my dad. Dad says "well yeah". Chaplain said after the second time, you get to go home. Next day Dad was gone!
Got back January '53. Participated in a nuke test April that year. Got out in August '53 (in Marine reserves to I think '59), married my mom January '54. Dad passed in 1982 at age 56, Mom passed in 2014, age 94! Buried holding my dad's dress blues. She loved a man in uniform.

Hope they come separated to get one graded

If you have a single subscription of 2 sets, they will be in one box.
If you want 2 separate boxes with one in each, you need two individual sucscriptions.
So see if you can get another subscription set up first, then change the existing subscription to 1. I wouldn't lower it until you have another subscription set up.
I buy several ASEs this way where I just want to hold one a sealed box and add the other to my collection.

If Your Call is they will " Not " sell out fast, So be it,

Yeah, I wouldn't want to actually bet on how fast they sell out. I think it'll be popular no doubt. But tempered with that, they are producing a lot more of them than the Uncirculated, way more than 2021 as well. Plus most or all that really want them, have them on subscription already. I could definitely be all wrong, but my feeling is they aren't going to quickly sell out. Maybe last a couple hours at the fastest. Not anything like 2021.

Well on the bright side, even though enrollments are closed for the 2023 proofs, they are still holding a lot back for drop day. I don't think they came all that close to the product limit through enrollments anyways, it just got to the point it was too close to drop day to continue accepting enrollments. If it's not processed or processing by noon tomorrow, is give them a call. Worst case scenario is order one on drop day. This won't be a 2 minute sell out.

I checked my subscriptions and found the above statement to be evidently correct.
Anything that has been issued or at least in process like the proof Morgan and Peace dollars, are TBD as it is now a subscription for the next issue. Anything not yet issued had the upcoming release date, if the date is known. A few just have the season ie "Fall 2023".

I got charged for my Morgan, but not my Peace - and my subscription says "TBD"

If the current subscription is fulfilled, the subscription changes to the next subscription. So when you look at the TBD subscription, I'm guessing it has the 2024 date on it.
