yall, our house burnt down, coins survived, so if anyone would please help identify what of his MANY 1917 and 1936 Lincoln cents are most likely going to be ddo, fam an I would understand only opinions, an still be eternally grateful, it's a weird feeling having all these coins from G-PA, who collected raw, and feel useless without knowledge of how to utilize the value and appreciation. Have up to 20 of every cent from 1916D,S,P, to 1959, many are still new looking . Except the 1917 stack and a few others. I will start posting images of each one that I appears double died, I just can't tell with the wear. On these. If my post is against rules I apologize I am human, I love coins, house is ashes still have coins, reaching out only for direction . Thank you

Mechanical Doubling Cents before 1990 had the mint mark punched in by hand after the die was made, so a true doubled die before 1990 wouldn't show the same doubling on the mint mark. It is possible to have a doubled die that also shows machine doubling, the the doubled die part will still not show on the mint mark., ( I read the above quote and was thinking how can a hand punched mint mark, show mechanical doubling?) |
