Is it possible for a seller to change the ebay item pictures after the item has sold? I bought a coin that had certain characteristics and received a coin thats close but I'm pretty sure its not the same coin but the pictures on the ended auction look like the one I received.I would blame it on my poor eyesight except for the fact that they have listed a coin that looks exactly like the one I thought I won.

I use a product called Novus Plastic Polish. It comes in 3 bottles & grits for deeper or lighter scratches. It works excellent. I also tried the auto scratch out first but didn't get the results I wanted. You can get the Novus on ebay,it coms in all sizes but I bought the small bottles about 4 years ago and I still have 75% of it. A little goes a long way. |

I don't know how to decode the numbers but I can tell you as far as PCGS graded coins are concerned that the older green labels are considered under graded by some collectors. And are to some degree a little more sought after. I have owned many of the green labels and as with the newer PCGS gradings, some seem to be under graded and some are not. All pretty much the same to me. |

PCGS is considered to have a slight edge over NGC here in the US in my opinion.PCGS graded coins will bring a slightly higher premium over the same coin in a NGC slab, but there both excellent grading companies. As far as world coins,I couldn't say. |

I just bought a 1893 Morgan dollar. It's certified by PCGS but no VAM designation. I know the 93-P has a couple VAM's with an upper/lower "3" issues but this one has what I call the "shark fin "3". It has what I can only explain as a shark fin right on top the 3 in the date. I know the "S" in states is on the other side but I'm pretty sure it isn't a die clash. Here's a small pic.I will post a bigger one when I have it in hand.If anyone has seen this before let me know.I'm no VAM expert by any means. I know just enough to get into trouble.

I have been using a Fuji 6.3 megipixel camera for a number of years now.If I use the macro setting and get a rock steady camera mount, the pictures come out very well. The big problem has always been lighting or finding the right light.I have taken up to 10 pictures of the same coin just to get the right lighting to show what the coin actually looks like.
I found a mini studio that has solved this problem and now it 2 maybe 3 pics to capture the true coin with all the details or issues.I do agree that with the new digi cameras that are out that, coin picture taking is much better than it use to be.
mini studio,
