Value is 2 pence each. About 2½ cents.

1971 2 new pence coins were bronze (97% copper).

Coins with steel cores did not appear until 1992.

This does not look like a genuine coin to me - possibly a modern cast reproduction?

Sorry, your extra pictures are more blurred than the first ones.

The first Charles III coin has been revealed - a 50 pence with in my opinion a very attractive design.

Hello everyone, I am probably the exception here because I am not strictly speaking a coin collector, but a metal detectorist from the UK.

I have never bought a coin but have a growing collection of coins and other items found with my metal detector.

I therefore have an interest in all UK-found coins, whether Celtic, Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Medieval or later. I also occasionally find foreign coins including the odd one from the USA!

I hope to be able to join in the discussions, particularly relating to British and European coinage.
