@John1 I am using the Samsung Note 10 with an app called Microscope and Magnifier. I can't getva decent zoom while still in focus when using the phones camera alone, the app helps keep focus while being able to zoom up to roughly x10. And yes sometimes I have to mess with the lighting a little in order to remain focus while still zoomed in. Once I get the extra money I've been looking into a scope for coins specifically. Just not sure what are good brands while remaining affordable. Sorry about my ignorance as I'm am learning. Just a novice here but I am trying to learn even if its slowly. Seems once I learn on thing and feel comfortable about my knowledge then a screwball seems to get tossed into the mix just to make me realize that I still don't know jack about coins and how to read them.

Found a 1981 penny that has multiple lines running horizontally across Lincolns face. The lines aren't deep nor feel like they are etched into the coin itself, almost like they was flashed on to the surface, what are anyone's thoughts or ideas, also has anyone seen anything similar to what is happening to this coin? Does the lines add any sorta value or rarity to this coin?

I have this 1982 Lincoln Penny with something going on with the location of the mint mark, I am wondering about the "dimple" in that location. Also would this be considered a small date as laying beside another 1982, it definitely appears to be smaller. If other pictures are ever needed to come to any conclusion about any of my posted coins I am more than welcome to snap a few more for anyone inquiring. Also the value would be nice to have a rough idea anyhow. Once again thank you in advance for helping this novice figure out some coin reading, I so very much appreciate it. By the way my messenger is usually always free for anyone wanting to casually chat about our money collections amongst whatever else we collect.

1991 Lincoln Penny With Suspected BIE Error

Found this suspected 1991? Lincoln Penny, which if looked closely enough you'll notice several letters and or numbers haven't been stamped very well. Would thus be considered a grease stamped? Now onto the word "LIBERTY", is this the infamous BIE error. Now onto the reverse side, is the word "CENT" be doubling? Also what would be the value if placed upon this coin? Again thanks everyone in advance for helping establish an idea with this coin.

Found this 1987 D Lincoln Penny, but what is up with this thing? Could someone tell me your thoughts please? Would that be considered a D over D, also added materials between the E and the R in "LIBERTY" on the obverse side. Then flip it to the reverse side and the O and N on "ONE" has something going on with it, also would that be machine doubling one the words "UNITED" and "AMERICA". What would be the value, does anyone have close to an idea about that? Dont plan on selling but rather just curios to see if I should place it in a coin case or let it lay free in my collection box. Thanks in advance to everyone who has any information that could be verified.

Found 1996 Lincoln Penny with the outer ring all messed up. Any thoughts on what happened to this, or was the intent behind doing this. Also took a sideways shot to show the thickness, compared to a normal 1996 Lincoln Penny. Thanks for all the input

I have a 1967 Dime with potential doubling on "In God We Trust". Do yall think this is one that is worthy to put in place of my '67 year Dimes place? Or should I attempt to get rid of it for 10 cents or 2 dollars .gif" class="inlineimg" alt="" title="" />

For this last photo, I had adjusted the contrast and and sharpened the picture to achieve a clearer photo

@Cujohn. I appreciate the response, also would this be a coin that you personally would send to have graded? This happens to be a very good friend's coin, yet he is convinced he really has something with this coin while I have been trying my hardest to convince him otherwise. Simply for the fact that other than how "shiny" and how minimal scratched up it is, that there hasn't been anything else to show any value to this. Care to give any advice regarding such topics?

Can anyone fill me in and give me a little knowledge about the coloration on this 2006 Penny? Also how about some of the markings, mainly the ones that make ol Lincoln appear to be coughing on the obverse, and a letter "Z" above the (N) of "ONE" on the reverse side? Am I just looking to hard for things that aren't there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you thinking like an older machine where they lay down, then they are twisted to receive your gumball? Also thoughts on the reverse with the floating roof?

Found this 1969 D Lincoln Penny, which on the obverse side has a circular imprint dead center. Any ideas of the cause? I'm not convinced this would be a printing error or I'm not experienced enough to know. I've been slowly learning about the types of errors but failing to really learn without physically being able to hold it in my hands and to be able to see it personally so I can compare and take personal notes for myself. Also on the reverse side has maybe a potential floating roof? Can anyone give this beginner some quick lessons and understandings. Lol. Appreciate anyone who is able to take the time to give me a hand. Really appreciate it and I hope your day is blessed

@Dearborn, I was just tossing some humor in there, hence the damaged Memorial. Too me it appears to just have been shaken up. Hence that's why I mentioned the earthquake. I am 3 hours from Washington D.C. and I must say that the last one they did have, back in 2012 or 2013, somewhere around there. Alot of folks around this area was able to feel the trembles despite being hours away from the fractual zone.

That makes complete sense, yet I couldn't figure out something so logical. Really appreciate the help. Truly opening my eyes to maybe see the coin for what it is and stop making an attempt at looking into them deeper than what they are showing me in the first place. You guys are awesome.

Can someone explain the markings within this coin on the obverse side? Also the marks running within Lincoln's hairline? Normal wear? Spike errors? Why the odd color designs and what would have created them to begin with?

@Spence, I kinda thought the same thing but having a second opinion truly helps. I've been learning as I go, but I am very new to the hobby yet. Would you mind taking a look at a few other penny's that I recently came across? If not I appreciate the info that you could provide.

Was going thru some of my penny collection this evening and I had came across this beauty. It's a 1970 Lincoln Penny, while the obverse side looks to have normal wear and tear for the age of the Penny, flip it to the reverse side and the poor Lincoln Memorial looks as if it's been hit by an earthquake. What's yall thoughts on the cause behind this occurrence? Has anyone seen anything similar? Would this be something considered as rare or not worth the time to look at it in that perspective? Thanks for taking the time and happy New Year's everyone. Hope it was filled with lots of blessings and so many more made memories.

I use a pair of soft white gloves when handling any of my coins no matter what condition they are in. I figured it is good practice just to go ahead and handle them all as if they are all MS-70 grade. Better safe than sorry. Does anyone have any advice on the type of cloth gloves or should they be latex, non latex? Micro-fiber, or cotton? The gloves I have now are a soft cotton mix of polyester fabric. Currently haven't seen any marks left after handling the coins. Although I have only touched coins in this condition on the sides as to not scar the obverse or reverse sides
