was at my local coin store and asked about the w burnished silver eagles, he showed me a whole drawer of them still in the blue box, he has a tough time selling them, they were priced from $45 to $65, so he will be my source if I decide to do the same collection now that I have my bullion collection complete.

here is a pic of a 1965 sms, 1966 sms and 1968 proof, just got them today from the same seller, notice the 65 is almost as shiny as the 68 proof, while the 66 is duller. The only way I know these are sms is the sellers claim. I need to find a real nice circulated 66 to compare, to make sure he sent me a sms and not a cir. The prices were way different, the 65 was $17, the 66 was $11 and the 68 was $8. Any insight is welcome

nicklesearcher, that is a good question, how many coins are there? I guess it depends on how deep I go into the varieties or just collect one from each year, an example are the 4 from 2014 shown above. part of the fun of putting this album together is figuring out how many coins should be in it, too early to tell.

starting a cap album for Franklin half dollar proofs and silver(no clad) 90% and 40% Kennedy half dollars starting with both types of 1964, then the 40% including the bicentennial and then the 1992 to present. already have the 2014 anniversary set, going to leave them in the blue holder. Since these have all been broken out of the mint sets, putting them in air tites makes sense to preserve them. excuse the pics, lots of shiny silver and plastic to reflect

Sooo compared them to the ones on the englehard page referenced above and figured out the 2 with P ser no are the most common US variety, am wondering about P142159, top two lines are stamped at an angle, the other 3 are the most common Canadian variety
