I actually take photos with my phone using an app called Mag Light, I will show you a screenshot. I then open and either crop it or adjust the size allowed for upload. I also use 2 different microscopes for close extremely detailed pictures.
Yes, the second were for comparison. I did it in case I wasn't clear enough in my description and wanted to be sure they knew what I meant. I will make sure not to do that going forward. I apologize.
Hello! I have a 1939 nickel where it's lettering and numbering seem bubbled to me - is that a double strike? I know it's old and been around, so I don't know if it's normal for fonts to spread out like that. I am going to upload pictures of my coin vs. ones from google.
Thank you so much for the extra tips... I wasn't sure how to start, so this was perfect. I am guessing I just place them down afterwards and let them air dry? Or can I pat them dry?
Hey friends... a family member showed me this coin that he was given a long time ago. He asked me if it would be worth anything, so I am coming to ask the experts.
This coin was minted at the Franklin Mint. It's the 350th Anniversary Barbados. 1625-1975

Hello friends, OK so I have never seen a nickel look like this. It obviously doesn't look in the best shape, but the coloring is what struck me as odd. I have nickels that are worn or have changed color, but this is so different than what I have seen before. It weighs 5 oz.
OK, that's what I was wondering as it seems so flat in areas, almost like it's not there anymore. Others seem "bubbled" attached to another letter which confuses me as well.
Hey! I am curious, especially with older coins how you can tell whether or not the mint has doubled or if it appears that way due to natural wearing of the coin. I still have trouble identifying some of the doubling in coins unless it is completely obvious where it would smack me in the face LOL
I did check varietyvista.com which I saw referenced in a post from a few years ago.
