So the weight difference is just due to environmental damage?

This penny only weighs 2.91 grams. I checked it again and again. I even used some other zinc pennies to make sure the scale was working correctly, and it was because the zinc pennies weighed 2.47 grams. My conclusion is that this 1970 penny is missing its clad layer. However, I'm not sure if it left the mint that way or if the damage occurred afterwards. Thoughts?

Is it something that would add value to the coin since one letter from the motto is missing?

You can barely see the five in the date, unless you enlarge the picture. And then you can only see the outline of the five at best. Also, the model on the top edge begins to fade beginning at the U and the letter T is almost non-existent. The rim is strong, so I don't think this is normal wear and tear. Also, it doesn't look like someone did this with a tool. The damage could be from cleaning, but I'm thinking maybe there was some goo on the dye or something. Thoughts?

Is it possible to open a TPG slab without breaking it? I have some professionally-graded coins for sale, and I'm concerned that people might try to break the coin out, reseal the slab with one of their own coins inside, and send it back for a refund.

I'm really not even sure if this would be considered an error. It looks like it was intended to be an s, but the serifs are weird.

So it's nothing more than a money-making scheme?

I found out that NGC recommends resubmitting pennies, as well as all copper and copper-clad coins, every ten years for re-grading because copper changes over time. Do other TPGs provide this service? Should I even bother with a penny that was graded by NGC over ten years ago but has not been resubmitted?

This nickel has a crack in the 5 o'clock position on the obverse. Is it environmental damage or something else? Also, does it look cleaned?

Here's a shot of the reverse.

I got this quarter and it's graded PF 69 ultra cameo by NGC.

My first problem is that it does not look ultra cameo. My second problem is that the NGC verification tool shows the reverse image of a Peace Dollar rather than a Washington Quarter. I emailed NGC about the discrepancy with the image but they have yet to reply. I was wondering if any of the experts on this forum could provide any insight.

I didn't point them out because I've got a pretty good idea what they are.

I have this red seal bill with a horizontal mark on the obverse side just above the word "UNITED". It looks like a staple but it isn't; it's just a mark. The bill feels real, but I'm wondering why the mark is there. Below are the pictures of the mark, the area on the reverse where the mark would be, and the obverse and reverse of the entire bill.

It's the date of the death of French gunsmith Casimir Lefaucheux.

Thanks, Hondo Boguss, but I think that was 1854. I couldn't find anything for August 9th 1852. I just thought that it would pass because it's a date.
