I didn't post the picture but there's another one of the bird looking dye chips or clash on her chest and I got a roll of the Denver mint the San Francisco mint and the Pennsylvania mint and every single one of the Pennsylvania mints have a dimple on his lip That is not found on the San Francisco or the Denver.
I just got a roll from the US Mint with each mint mark and into the 3rd quarter in the P mint roll and I came across these. Quarter looks like its missing its clad layer? Very faded and dull. I didn't need magnification to see the what looks like a bird I drew as a kid on her forehead but the die chip on her fingers is cool.
As I said it's really hard to get a photo with the lighting to show off the discoloration of the coin. The detail on the coin is still very well intact.
Hi. I apologize as I am new to learning all of the correct terms. I found this is a roll of bicentennial quarters. The coin is in great shape overall despite the coloring and I think finger strikes? I appreciate all the helpful information. I can not get a great overall photo of the coin and show the color as well as under the scope
I recently bought 5 rolls of uncirculated P mint mark 2023 Pennies and about 50% of them have this ring along the outer rim and I have found a few what I think are referred to as die chips? I apologize I am newer to the coin hunting.
I let it soak for 3 minutes. I try a longer soak. When you run your finger over it there is no edge felt at all in between the copper and silver markings.
I'm curious if this is one of those coins where metal got stamped onto the coin. This is a 1946 wheat penny I got out of a roll recently. Curious what everyone's thoughts are.
*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***
I recently received a roll of 2023 Eleanor Roosevelt quarters direct from the US Mint and went I opened each roll it was obvious there were die chips throughout both mint marks. The edge rim of the coins seem to be raw on over 80% of the coins in both rolls. And I've discovered other die errors, mainly on her face. The P mint mark ones seem to a misalignment strike on the front. The other thing I noticed is that the D mint mark has a bright shiny finish and the P a much duller finish. These photos are from 5 out of each roll. Over all I've found that 75% of the quarters have die chips. Thoughts?
