@nickelsearcher I just looked at your fine woodworking and as someone who has made a good living selling furniture and knows the difference between cheap furniture and functional art, I have to say those are some of the most beautifully made pieces I have ever seen in my life. We need to chat.
I cannot believe this I was looking through and inventorying my friend's baseball card collection which she inherited recently. In between the pages of the cards I found these amazing treasures!!! I have never heard of fractional currency until now! This is quite the find and I'm super excited! Anyone who has any knowledge or knows some history about these items please let me know. I love learning! (My name is Jennifer, by the way)
I guess I should look on the bright side, I did manage to get a ton of MS post 1982-2009 in them. I'm still sorting them out now. To find the best of each. Is there anything specific I should keep an eye out for? I'll be posting some of them in the coin grading forum in a minute
It is my understanding that President Trump has Stopped minting pennies as they cost four times more to make than what they're worth. That's fine with me. I only collect pre-1982 Lincoln's anyway. So you can imagine my disappointment when I bought five dollars worth of rolled pennies from the bank and not a single one had anything before 1982 Except for one 1978 that looked like it was in mint condition and obviously got overlooked as one of the newer coins which I was super excited about. Is anybody else experiencing this absence of pre 1982 Lincoln's or is this just a bad batch of rolls or maybe the bank I use. the last time I got rolls there was plenty of different dates and even wheat pennies but now not so much. I hope this is the right for Place for me to post questions like this. If it's not, I'll be happy to delete the post and repost it elsewhere if somebody would tell me where it would be more appropriate. anyways I'm just trying to see what The community thoughts are on these issues. thank you and happy digging ya'll!
What's weird is that the copper is in the middle and the zinc was on the outside of the face when I thought it was the other way around for 1984 Lincoln pennies. Oh well, back to digging. &
And just for the record, I am a female, I identify as a female I was born a female I will always be a female. It's a shame that I have to explain my gender in such away these days lol &
I know there's a possibility that it's been altered in someway but it's so pretty the pictures don't do it justice. I tweeked the saturation and contrast just a little bit so that it resembled what the coin actually looks like so you can get a full experience. I did rinse it in distilled water and I always clean with 91% ISO and anhydrous acetone. What was weird about this is that when I used my cloth to polish my fingerprints off it looked like it dulled the color, so I was obviously a little bit upset. I rinsed it with water again and the color came right back. I've had this happen on a few that I've collected, and all I collect is pre-shield Lincoln cents that are unique and have a rainbow tones. I have some purple ones and some pink ones too.
The reason that I took that picture at an angle was because I wanted to show how shiny and lustrous it is it's very shiny. It looks to me like a laminating mishap rather than an altercation though, but I don't know near as much .The reason that I took that picture at an angle was because I wanted to show how shiny and lustrous it is it's very shiny. Let me know what you guys think if you think it's altered or if it's just oxidation, the upper side looks as if it's almost camouflage pattern . it's speckled
Hey you guys, I just kind of wanted an opinion of what you think about this. I collect colorful rainbow-colored pennies because they're the most beautiful in my opinion. Anyway, let me know what you think of this one and what would one charge for something like this on eBay
