I agree nice coin, I've been looking at some byzantine coins also same ones as you. I like the legends and how big and heavy they are.

My bad  It's 25 mm. Seller didn't mention the weight. To me it looks kind of thin, but I have no experience with these Byzantine coins so I don't know for sure. |

I just noticed something. The seller had it as a follis, SB 14, but on Wildwinds, for SB 14, it has it listed as a reduced follis. Which one is it?

At 25mm it is the small module and is from the Post Reform period 498-518. From what I can make out it is Sear #14.

What is a small module? And does it have to do with whether it is a follis or reduced follis?

Small module has to do with the size of the coin, in this case they were from 23-27mm. Reduced in size but not value. The large module folles are 30-39mm.

Hi it's a nice coin I also love byzantine coins,someone think that they are always in bad preservation and they are like" b series" coins not interesting as roman ,but however I think they're always beautiful .

Well, I received it today, and I'm really satisfied with it. Was kind of hoping that the seller's picture didn't show the face of the bust well and that it would be a little more complete in hand, but other than that everything else is good and again, I am happy with my purchase.   (Hope my pics are okay; the camera was about to die so I had to snap these up quickly) Edited by VisigothKing

Hi jango I'm very glad you like an collect these kind of coins like me.
I must say that it is hard to find on the market Byzantine coins showing on the obverse the basileus in good condition.
Almost always, you can not distinguish facial features, if you already can feel the shape of the face and body are believed to be a success in my opinion.
so this is a pretty serious money.
maybe tomorrow will place some of my if you like to see them.
I have some coins of Romanus I lecapeno, iustinus II, michelIV , cosTans II, costantinus VIII, costantinusVII porfirogenitus, Basilius I, eraclius.
which do you prefer?
