In my opinion, this guy is one of two who absolutely have to go, to set an example for potential future scammers. Unfortunately, he's going to be a harder target than the other, who is providing his own evidence.

But, but, but............he's a powerseller!! Guys sells lots, pays ebay their fees, they basically leave him alone. How can one have any respect for the 'bay when they let scammers like estatedoctor continue to rip people off, yet ban Legend? Unbelievable.

estatedoctor (with at least four alias and NARU'd ebay identities) has a nasty habit of not sending coins, showing doctored images, selling counterfeits and fake tokens (and lots of other fake stuff), giving retaliatory and derogatory negative feedback, making false claims, not delivering the items pictured, not accepting responsibility for errors and a whole lot more. Easily the most fraudulent coin seller on ebay. His/her negative feedback is the worst in the business: http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/neg...=Received+by

ebay should be held responsiable if they do not do anything about the person, I bet they would soon change their tune after that..

Jim, ebay doesn't take responsibility for its sellers' actions since it claims it's just a venue for persons to sell things. Despite proven fraud, it has permitted estatedoctor to continue to operate under one ID or another for about three years. It's just the way ebay works and while it's a nice thought that ebay might someday be brought to account for its sellers' transgressions, it doesn't appear that it's gonna happen anytime soon.

I bet with the right Lawyer an a court date, with the proof < of course that ebay has waived the idea that the guy is a crook , because they just want their money. But if I buy a coin from you (for Example) an it turns out to be stolen, I can be charged for it, or if I harbor a crimminal, unknowingly (which in My idea) ebay does, I can be arrested. I f a crook breaks into my house trips on say my daughters toy and breaks his leg he can legally sue ( he will go to jail of course but still legally can receive compansation for his wound. WOW this why I do not sell or buy on ebay or any other auction site. of course I would from most of you on the forum. That would be my only exception to the rule. I dont think ebay should be held responsaible for the actions of every crook, but when everyone knows that they let it slide becuase he pay's them their money then yes.

Tiffany's now 2+ year old lawsuit against ebay for doing just that already has some big guns on the job. It'll be in court for a few more years before anything is resolved. ebay has tightened up a little as a result including it's "report this item" function at the bottom of each auction. For dozens of pertinent articles on the suit, see: http://www.google.com/search?q=tiff...nt=firefox-aIn our field of numismatics, one needs to be carefully and thoroughly educated in spotting fakes, hype, homebrew slabs, problem coins, overgrades, the series in which one is interested, and the auction sellers themselves before wading in where angels fear to tread. However, with this education, one can do very well on ebay, both buying and selling. It's sorta like swimming with the sharks: it can be done without losing an arm and leg, but it's not for the faint of heart and the unwary.

Yes, NARU'd yesterday (Wed 17 Jan). You could hear the cheers and sighs of relief around the world. But, unless the Feds are on their case, they'll be back.

Hell, you could even hear the cheering way down here it was that loud! But let's face it, they've had a lot of practice at just changing ID and coming right back.
