Real Capped Bust Half Or Not?

keep in mind DM, the banner on the reverse of the bust half was punched into every individual die by hand, and thus the location will vary from die to die, actually, the stars were hand punched, the lettering United states of americA was on a ring punch I believe, the 50 C was hand punched, so all of that will vary from die to die.

Just got it in. I have to process photos but I took one through my loup with my iPhone of the cheek area. Appears to be light bag marks maybe? No more really than is on the above photographed coins neck area. The black in the ebay image was just shadowing from the flash. Here is a photo of it. I will get the good ones processed tonight and post them to see what you all think about it.

Here are some shots in decent lighting from differrent angles. Please critique and let me know what you think about this coin. Does the toning appear to be original? Is their any advice you could give on how to tell? Thanks.

Thank you, I appreciate the complement. Is the concensus still the same on it? I don't know if the other photos have revealed anything different or not is why I ask. I really love the toning on the coin but if it is artificial then I don't want to keep it. It is an overall gray color when in poor lighting. Don't know if that helps any or not.

Also, would the marks on the cheek honestly keep it from grading AU? I see so many AU and MS coins with marked up cheeks. It is confusing to me being new why it and other coins would or wouldn't make the grade. I really am not trying to be difficult or trying to talk myself into keeping the coin, I am just trying to understand this more.

If thats the case then I won't return it just because I was dumb enough to overpay for it. I'll keep it as a reminder to not jump as fast next time. Part of the new guy due paying I suppose.

I would never purchase a coin in that price range not authenticated. It may well be real but I just don't like to take those chances. And since it is well overpriced too, for me I'd send it back. Actually I never would have purchased in the first place. You really have to start looking into finding coin shows and coin clubs.
Still if your happy with it and you can afford to well over pay for something you really like, might be OK.

Buyer has a 7 Day Return Policy, so if anything your out the return shipping. But all in all if you like it, thats what its all about. I think I just over paid for a coin because of the design it had on it. And It might not even be a coin, but rather bullion. All because it has the Justice Scale on it. Whats funny is if I had clicked 2pgs further I would of found another one for almost half the price but with a little more time left on the clock. lol I hope all works out for you. Update on the coin, it is going to be sent back tomorrow. After talking with a few of the members of the local club I am in the final thought it has been recently cleaned and artificially re-toned. Had I just over payed for it I wouldn't send it back as I feel that is due completely to my lack of experience, but being that it is a doctored coin it will go back for sure.

The club members gave me some reading material about artificial toning for me to learn what to look for next time. Lesson learned for me. Thank you all for your help and input as well.
