Nice grouping of AR coins. Some of them are beyond my current budget.

Are denarii (and Roman coins in general) cheaper in Europe, since they are found and dug up over there? I have a feeling they are.

Nice denarii. Too bad about the fakes. I thought only those of us in the West were being sold fakes. The bottom right hand coin of Nero I believe to be an As, looks pretty good for a fake. It looks like it even has a countermark on the neck. Can you post a larger image of that one in particular.
You live in a prime area for Roman history buffs and collectors. There must literally be thousands of dig sites. I would love to metal detect in that area. I've traveled to Romania on business several times mostly working at Petesti and on the other side of Romania at Oradea. As most tourist, I love Transylvania.
Regards,
Editorial note: I forgot to mention I love Polinka too

There are a lot of fakes coming out of Eastern Europe when it comes to ancient coins. Most of the fake US and Europian coins are coming from China.

It's very good to see these and familiarize myself with "the look" I see on many. That worn Marcus Aurelius AE in row 5 might fool me at first glance.

Ah, now I see the "WRL" on the neck. On the first image I thought it was a countermark. For sure a copy!
As for Polinka, I know exactly what it is. Plum brandy. I've been snokered more then once on that stuff. All of our hosts want to have us try their own homemade polinka. Of course everyone says theirs is the best. I was more then a little drunk one evening when my host and I were having a discussion about the Romans. He said that Romanians are the ones who taught the Romans Latin. Of course, he was more then drunk himself. You have a beautiful country and I find the Romanians to be delightful and friendly.

The one on the left was pretty obvious; the right more is more obvious now with larger pics--thanks!

Thats the reason it took me so long to start collecting ancients but now its much easier to spot "replicas". I guess the only way is to get more experience with the real deal so you know what to expect, even though sometimes even the experts can get tricked. I have found a couple dealers that I mostly buy from now and will probably stick with. Thanks for posting!
