you have a 2005P NON MAG? Thats a very, very valuable coin. There is a long thread on it here in the forum.

The two sold went for around $3000 each.

oops, my mistake sorry lol. I even made sure to re-read what he had to avoid making that mistake, and still did it.

Yes keep an eye out for the 200p non mag, from what was discussed here, they were found in PL sets

It appears that the non-magnetic rolls are more valuable and scarce than the magnetic rolls. I have one of the special wrapper (last million penny) rolls and tested it. It is non-magnetic. So I would assume that the last pennies minted were non-magnetic....?

Interesting since the mint specs on the last penny roll say they are:

"Compositionsteel (1001) RCM Cu Plt Steel".

They should be magnetic

Hmmm.. that is odd CC - let me test it again, this time on both sides & along the wrapper....

Tested the 2012 special wrapper roll again. This time with a much more powerful magnet. Tested both sides & along wrapper; nothing. Thought maybe the thick wrapper made a difference. So wrapped very thick paper around a 2012 magnetic roll and tested with the magnet and it took quite well. So I have to conclude that this special wrapper roll is non-magnetic... at least this one is...

I have some coming from three different sources and it would be great if some were magnetic and some were not.

I also don't understand how these things are now on backorder. They were supposedly minted on or before May 4/12, so the RCM had more than 9 months to get them wrapped and ready to ship .

Come on Mint, a human being gets created in less time.

CC, Wasn't the shipment date February 12th? That is the date they launched the rolls at the Mint stores...

CC-Ottawa; I ordered 3 Dinos from Canada Post. Said they sent them. Called them back & then they said they didn't send them; it was a mistake - now they are on backorder until March. So I gave up & got mine at the Mint on launch date. Tried to cancel with CP. They said they can't cancel because they have a shipping label already made up, but I can always send them back when I get them. Huh? Don't know what's up with having the items ready to go & not sending them... Mint does the same thing... very frustrating...!!

It was supposed to be Feb 12th but many buyers have a received an e-mail in the past 24 hours telling them that the penny rolls are on back order.

Many of the other coins in the latest issue were supposed to ship Feb 12th too, but haven't. Same old shipping delays that seem to have become the norm.

The 100 year old coins which all they had to do was package, are also delayed. The original stated ship date was Dec 28th.

That sucks, CC, especially since you don't get to see what the coins looks like in person. Only a stock photo. If you don't like them or they have a flaw, you have to send them back. I ordered two 5-coin penny sets from Canada Post. One was nice; the other had a cracked case & one coin was scratched. Had to send it back after waiting nearly 2 months to get it! They offered to exchange, but of course, that didn't fly well, since they were sold out! duh...
