$100-$1000 is my comfort-zone when purchasing coins ... not too many of my coins have rung the over $1000 bell ...
Ummmmm, now paper-money => that is a far different story!

So far I'm trying to get a handle on what I have, so I have not purchased many over $100 coins. That said I did accidentally click BUY IT NOW on a 2006 1 cent MS-67 ICCS for $100. Long story short I had two browser tabs open, in a one was a no mint mark magnetic (which I meant to buy) and the regular in MS-67 and clicked the wrong one..... oops. I also have a standing order with a local dealer for a 1926 far 5 cent piece.

I fall into the $100-$499 category. I'll hold off voting until that gets added.

You left out an important one Glenn. Over $100, but under $500.

The most I've paid was 55$ for the 1858 20 cents and 45$ for 1899 25ยข. I expect some time to spend a bit more to upgrade my coins or to fill up my holes which happens to be a bit more expensive specially with Victorian dimes and quarters and a few key dates like the 1925 nickel.

My 48 dollar put me firmly in the 500-1000 range. That's about as high as it will get for the Canada coins.

The last time glenzy asked this question, my answer was "exactly Can$100" with a Province of Canada 20 cents I bought here on the forum. But since then, I've bought a Canadian gold $5 and a Canadian sovereign, both of which were over Au$500. Quote: I'll hold off voting until that gets added. You'll probably find that, now that you've posted in the thread, it won't allow you to vote.

I popped for a half for 90K, It was my worst graded year in my own collection. Don't regret it one bit either. Over a 100 I have to fight with the wife, she's shot me down on all the 21's so far. Fair is fair.
But I'm going to sell that place in Burnaby one of these days and buy the specimens I want.

My most expensive coin purchases are 1913 $10 Gold MS63, and a 1914 $5 Gold MS63. Most expensive purchase was in 1983 when I bought a original roll of 1948 Halfs, but thats 20 coins. Still have the gold and 5 or 6 of the best halfs that were in the roll. Like stevex6 says "easy come easy go", I had that attitude back then.lol
