I believe this was struck at Serdica with "KAB" in exergue. I am far from an expert on Probus coins, but I believe this is the coin you have: Probus Antoninianus RIC 846 Serdica struck in 277AD O: IMP C M AVR PROBVS P AVG, Radiate and cuirassed bust right R: SOLI INVICTO, Sol, cloak billowing out behind, raising right hand, in quadriga facing, KAB in exergue Here is an example I found below. Regards, -Kurt EDIT: At second glance, your bust looks draped and NOT cuirassed, so we aren't quite there yet :)

I think you got it JW. I was almost there. The right facing bust seems much less common the the left facing. TripleB7

Quote: The right facing bust seems much less common the the left facing. You are probably correct as I have two of these with left facing busts.

Awesome coins, dougsmit! Is there any reason why Probus had such nice bust types for his coins in comparison with other third century emperors?

I always thought he must have actually been a fashion plate and liked to be shown in his finest and newest duds. Does anyone have any other explanation for the attire?

I just sold a left facing bust of this coin for near $20. Your right facing may be somewhat more rare, so perhaps nearer $30 is my guess
