Wow, this thread was become such a waste of time IMHO. Why is your wife the topic of every single post? No one is gonna follow you home from the coin shop. The odds are probably better of getting struck by lightning twice in one day. No offense but just man up and go get the silver that you earned your money to buy.
As an Example, today I bought 10 10oz engelhard bars today for spot plus $75 cents, I paid with cash in a room full of 5k people. I never thought once I was in danger and I live near the most dangerous city in the country, STL.
Sorry for my little rant I won't comment anymore of this

I am real lucky as my mailman is real cool professional guy, an anytime package sent with sig required and this silver lover was NOT home, I have always had to go pick up next business day. Bit of an inconvenience, but just is what it is, and I would rather have the peace of mind then to know a high dollar item is just sitting on my porch.....
I have come home to big packages on the porch, but that was the fault of seller for going cheap an not buying sig confirmation....
USPS is cheaper usually, but they charge you extra for every little detail, where most of this is provided by UPS store, my local anyway. Nice to get pick up from store emails on packs going out, and emails telling me package arrived....
That is nice to prevent fraudulent buyers claiming they DID NOT GET, when they in fact did....
I tell you what, I trust no drivers after watching not only a Fed ex guy toss a computer over a fence back before Christmas, and a USPS guy did the same not long after, and both caught on video tape. Both shipments damaged as well seems like....

with throwbackid, If this is so stressful just to get it delivered imagine how stressful it will be to have this at home. Either don't go through with it or get it delivered directly to a bank that you have a safety deposit box at and let them worry about security

I agree with Throwbackid.
Personally if someone wants to rob me they better have 10 guys with em and be ready for a fight, or be armed and hope I am not.
This thread has gone off the deep end lol.

Strangely enough, she was the topic of the initial post as well: Quote: If we have it shipped, she is afraid the postman (or UPS guy or FedEx guy) will somehow be able to figure out what's in the box due to the weight. And, of course, the secret to storing PMs safely is to not let anybody know you have any. Which is to day, if you don't want to discuss the initial topic of this thread, why are you commenting at all? Sorry you wasted your time.

Oh -- and thanks again to poboxw for the suggestion about getting a P.O. Box. It was a terrific idea and has eased my wife's paranoia quite a bit. I know we can't get every PM delivery sent there, since some dealers ship via FedEx or UPS, but for this particular delivery at least it should work out just perfectly.

It's not paranoodle if someone is out to get you.

for someone that is so worried about the security of there silver stash, it is amazing that you have put this post up, not only members can see this but everyone with an Internet access can see it as well. Are you actually buying the silver or are you just "Big noting" This is a numismatics's forum not a security advisory forum, if you cannot work it out for yourself get some professional help.

Since my original question has been answered (thanks again, poboxw) and this thread has started devolving into personal attacks, perhaps it's time to ask a moderator that it be closed?

LOL Trout1105,
I totally agree. I'm going to buy some more silver today at the swap meet I hope Betty White is not there to rob me :)
And like someone else said they want mine they gonna have to deal with a .45 to their head.
