this will be a new yearly series, I dont mind the koala theme, in fact I think it will appeal more than the Kookaburra in the end.

i am not a real big fan of colorized coins , but I bet that would be cool colorized, or maybe a gold Koala on Silver back ground

I have some Kookaburra's but the bird theme really never did appeal to me. If the Koala becomes a series I just might buy into it! My heart is in the Mob of Roos, especially proofs when I can get them, and I do have the large silver MOB that was released a few years back. It is my favorite MOB thus far. My wife has the complete collection of silver Roos and I have a few (still collecting new issues) but I may find a place in my heart for the Koala! Sure is cheaper than the platinum, thats for sure!!! WILL THERE BE A 2007 MOB OF ROOS THIS YEAR OR COMMEMORATIVE DOLLARS ONLY? The proofs are so beautiful!

No idea. There's already a number of commems, and the first 2007 circ $1 is not the MOR design. The mint and proof sets contain the life-saver design.

Now that's what I call will-power, Terry. Just how long did you manage to hold out against temptation? Two weeks? I am glad to see that you are continuing to succumb to the power of the dark-side!

There is a building in Melbourne that has seemingly random triangular shapes on its external walls. Here is a link to a webpage that has a picture: http://www.maa.org/editorial/mathga...9_05_06.htmlMaybe the background a representation of that building? - Sam

Beautiful coin. Partial to the Kookaburras though as I think they are on a par with the other large silver coins. Would love to have some and may do so in the future.

I don't think that I'll buy a silver Koala. I've got a real live grey one living in a tree 20 yards from my front door. Has been there for nine days now and seems to have every intention of staying. Has changed trees twice and it is one of the joys of living in the Aussie country side to have this icon visiting near my house. Sorry fellow collectors but I can't seem to bring myself to buy an imitation of this beautiful creature. regards,

Too cute, I just ordered it! I would be VERY surprised to see a real live grey one in my backyard in Colorado. I'll have to do with this nice imitation, I believe. This is also more appealing to me than the birds series. The background is very nice in the pictures, I can't wait to see what it looks like on the coin, reflecting the light in all directions.

My will power is getting much better as it has taken a few weeks for me to decide I NEED MORE SILVER KOALA'S here in Indiana. Will have to get in touch with my friendly neighborhood Australian dealer (just a few thousand miles away)who is close as this little mouse lying here beside the computer. First year of issue so whats a man to do?
