A beautiful, beautiful coin! Super strike and obviously wonderfully flashy! Congrats!

I'll wait a little while before I post my Illinois!

David THIS IS GORGEOUS! Congrats! I've been looking for one of these. Not at a MS66 CAC budget lol , I'd like to find a 65, maybe a 64. I just love the reverse design on this coin so much that I have to have one. I'd seriously consider an unslabbed one actually, but it seems all that turns up has been cleaned.

I'm kinda partial to this coin toned as well, but then again I've never seen a toned example in hand.

Any suggestions as to a place to find a good one?

Yes. I have a clean, white PCGS MS65 example that was in my set before the coin in this thread ... and also an honestly circulated XF40 example.

You have enough posts to fairly engage in B/S/T ... but we will not do it in this forum.

Start a thread in the "Want List" forum and I will reply to it.

That is the Internet name for a collecting friend of mine who happens to have assembled the world's finest collection of circulated classic silver commemorative ... they were of course 'not mint to be' circulated.

Check out his set in the PCGS registry ... it is truly a mind boggling accomplishment. I'm working on him for photos.

Wow! That is one magnificent coin! I have been wanting to add this one to my collection for several months now. I love Lincoln! Seeing this graded as an MS-66, I know I'm going to have to wait for one like this, or at least an MS-62. Could you tell me what I can expect to pay for the coin in this condition? Thanks for sharing.

Ms 62s you can find for 100-200 usually and the 66 shown above will probably run you about 1000 as the clean ones like that with the cac usually fetch premiums and it has the PCGS + as well. May actually be more than 1000 honestly. The + and the cac sticker usually add a premium to the price especially on great examples like that

Those prices are usually pretty close to what they sell for

Great 1918 Illinois Ses, commem.
I have this in MS-64 and your is a lot nicer than mine.
The eye appeal of this Half dollar is among the best I have ever seen.
One you should be very proud to call yours.
