Look at the difference in post time, still two minutes to go, from 150 to 295 at the moment

What a shame.
No 1796's are known with the date that far away from the hair curl.

Looks like stupidity has a limit, too.
Just think, for that price, they could have bought a nice genuine gold piece or a fistful of unc Morgans.

Very hard making a final decision to buy based on the pictures alone.

Looks like there's a strong market for obvious fakes.

If a seller has access to the Internet to sell, he has access to look up enough info to see he's got at least a five-figure coin, arguments about grades passed by.
If I had a sure-thing $10,000+ widget, I'd not be auctioning it with a $100 reserve. $5,000, maybe.
And of course, all his obvious fakes...

Quote:holycow and bazza21 you realise this is a fake don't you? like all the other US coins this person had listed.......... Apparently bazza21 didn't read the Q&A to the seller. This quote was posted 4 minutes before bazza won the bidding at $410.

unfortunately the unanswered questions only appear after the listing has closed! NZ is such a small market I was able to contact at least two people directly that I saw expressing interest in the seller's fakes and steer them away. Looking at his closed auctions I see many other members called him out on the fakes but their questions didn't show until too late. This makes me so angry, because I recently sold a REAL Morgan for less than one of his fake ones!
