Silver Hawk,
Those are some nice looking poured Silver bars. What do you think the chances are that the price won't increase all that much?

Well Spider I think that Monarch bar is too high already at 323, an probably will go to 330 or 340, maybe more....
The next bar with shadows ends tonight an is settin right about 320, it may be bottomed out, and that could be the bar of the old pours to bid on....
The last bar still has not got a bid yet, but it will most likely even at high start, as someone would love to grab that bar for just over 300 bucks, an its a beaut the J&W bar, I really like those....

And as far as the items CBN posted, the engelhard settin at 316 with little time left perhaps could be a great deal, if it does not get much higher, same with the other at 321 or so....
The J&M bar starting at 300, no bids could be a last second snipe option if no one else bids, that would be good price, but again rare for that to happen an not get up to 320 or higher, but you never know. It ends in day an half, so if the market tanks more, who knows....
I am such a stickler to try an find a great silver bar at 300 even, but it just is not gonna happen till silver hits 25 per oz., man I try though, lol....

Scottsdale stackers are $316 each right now and they let you use a let you use a CC. They are the best looking bars IMO and they stack better then any others.

I have ordered from Goldmart on several occasions and would recommend them. As long as you're not in too much of a hurry for your item to arrive, that is. Especially if you are paying by check...

I watched those auctions go off on ebay. Unfortunately they were a little higher than I wanted to spend, especially the poured bar. Barryg, Glad to hear that you had a good experience with goldmart. I can live with a 3-4 week delivery so unless I can snag a good deal on ebay, I will probably make a purchase from goldmart.

Consider that as volatile as the silver market is, it will be very difficult to guarantee getting the lowest possible price. If silver rises by $1/oz. while you are searching, that will just about cover the cost of shipping.
Also, SilverTowne often sells their silver bars for a decent price with free shipping. I also like the fact that their bars come wrapped in plastic for protection. I have bought 40 of their 5-oz. bars but have not bought any of their 10 oz or 1 oz bars. The 5s and 10s have individual serial numbers stamped on them, which is nice.

I just got off the phone with Goldmart. I placed an order for one 10 ounce NTR .999 Silver bar and three 1 ounce Johnson Matthey .999 Silver bars. The total cost for the order was $379 plus $8 for shipping and a $12 fee for purchasing with a credit card. The total cost for the entire order of 13 ounces was $399. Since the entire order is in stock, Goldmart will ship it out within the next 3 to 5 business days. I should get the order by Wednesday of next week. I think I placed the order at today's lowest price since the recent market has been showing a 20 cent rise.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me make my first 10 ounce silver bar purchase. I appreciate all the help from everyone.

Thirteen oz. of silver at 399 bucks is 30.69 per oz., and with silver setting at around 28.20 when you ordered that, you did real well at just right at 2.50 over spot per oz., on nice high quality silver. And that is just about as good as one can hope to do. Well done an nice score....

Thank you Silverhawk. I will continue to look for a 10 ounce poured bar. There is something about a poured bar that is so appealing.

Today the mailman just delivered my order. It took 5 days from the time I placed the order with goldmart, to the time I received it. I am extremely pleased to have my first 10 ounce silver bar. I am afraid I have become somewhat hooked, immediately after I opened the package, I started looking for a nice 50 ounce bar and a nice 10 ounce poured bar.

And more importantly many collectors of silver do as well as they bring high premium an always get attention an bids....
Why waste ones time investing in something only I or you like, but no one else does, as that does us both little good. That has happened to me before, not often but times I have let my emotions steer me in the wrong direction, or overspend on something that I liked but others turned out not as much, lol....
Even checking the last five sells transactions is not a bad plan of say a particular item (10 oz. old pour say for example) that you want, an take that average an you have a pretty good idea what that item is worth....
Now, your plan should be at that point to get it for less then that average sell price to leave you some meat on the bone, say 20 to 25 percent less if possible if not more. Not easy but if it was everyone would be doing it, keep hunting as there in lies the challenge....
There are people out there wanting out of silver wanting to sell. An if one always used that simple system, they would rarely loose money an worst case break even I figure. just gotta hunt a little an not be afraid to toss out an offer you feel is reasonable...

Quote: There is something about a poured bar that is so appealing In most cases, the poured bars do not look as good to me as do the better finished bars. The one exception to this is the 100 gram poured PAMP gold bar. I am fascinated with these and would really like to buy a few of them. Yeah, I know... most people prefer gold coins to bars but, hey... to each their own.
