Weight should be 26.73g with a tolerance of 0.097g. Diameter should be 38.1mm. I think both coins are genuine just that the 1921 may have had its surfaces altered.

I agree with Moe on the grades. That '21 might have been recovered by a Honey Dipper! Have you noticed an odor?

I don't think that's far off weight, I assume you've done a magnet test?

All kidding aside on the 1921, have you tried an acetone soak or a bit of Verdicare. Might work wonders on the coin since it still has a lot of detail. PG

I would go with a EF details on the 21. As others have said, you can see definition of the breast feathers. On grade lower than EF the Breast is slick. And actually with the weak strikes these are known for I MIGHT go AU details but the hair and cotton balls are worn down a bit tooooo much...or are very weakly struck. I know this is sacrilige to a lot of people but I think that is one coin that would be OK to dip!!!

VF-35 and EF-40. Some ugly toning on the 21. If they weigh the same, no way the 21 is fake. Nobody is going to fake a coin, in silver, that is worth bullion value (!)

haha I love you guys! It is some ugly toning, I'd agree! Since the date is pretty much worth melt value plus a few, and we can all agree it may have been recovered by a "honey dipper", I am going to give it an acetone and verdicare spa treatment LOL. Be back with the results soon!
