What is the best way to tell if it has been cleaned.

Honestly...just look at it. No lustre, flat surface color, yet it is very white...

that thing almost looks fake. Its definitely been messed with but I agree it was about a VF coin before it was ever messed with

unfortunately I agree, cleaned, will not make EF by grade alone...let alone being cleaned

I will post a pic once I get them back probably Tuesday next week.
By the way the pictures didn't do this coin any justice what so ever, there wasn't a single mark on the reverse and just a tiny wear or weak strike in te hair.

Of course there aren't any marks. They've been polished away.
