I have a hard time telling the difference between the bullion and uncir from pictures. Is it the bullion or the uncirculated w one. The bullions are techinically uncirculated but they are a different coin. The Ws in a 70 will cost a little more.

It said its uncirculated. But how can you tell the difference? What should I look for?

If it came from the mint in an uncirculated ogp its probably that. But look for a W mint mark. The uncir will have it the bullion wont. I believe it should be on the reverse near the eagles left foot

But actually I just remembered that in 2009 they only made a bullion version so just use what I said above for future reference. For what its worth you can get pcgs 70s of that on ebay for 75 dollars. some go over 100 but there are buy it nows for 75. If you got a 70 you could make some money, but its kind of a long shot and most likely would end up costing you money. No one can tell you if its actually a 70 or not till its be graded the line is so fine. Even the big websites that cherry pick giant boxes cant hit a 70 every time

Save your money on having it certified. MS-69 and below only get you bullion prices so you'll lose the slabbing fee and all shipping charges.

Ok gotcha. Thanks very much!! I think I may send to get graded anyway. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky!! I also have a 1881-O Morgan and a 34 Washington quarter I'm going to send to get graded also.

You'd be better off buying another silver eagle for what it will cost you to slab that one.

If you want to slab it go for it. Its all how you like it an how you do it. I know often times everyone always says not to because it wouldnt be smart financially but thats not the end all be all. I enjoyed sending my first coins in, was ultimately disappointed lol but it was exciting. Just do whatever you want to do, just dont do it think you found a great way to make money

basebal that is good advice. But for what its worth, I would add that jdm also take the time to learn what the garding requirements are before the money is spent. I may be mistaken but doesn't PCGS have grading sumaries of what constitutes the barious numeric grades. If so, I would recommend that that source is visited.

Just my Two Cents

Couldnt agree more definitely helps to know what youre looking for. PCGS does have a grade scale but I dont think its really that helpful when trying to pick 69 or 70.

Thanks very much guys. I really appreciate the opinions and because I am new the getting coins graded I have been trying to learn as much about it. I ran to my local book store and dropped about 80 bucks on books to try and learn more. Like I said before I think I'm gonna send it with a couple other coins to get graded just because. Ultimately I want to build my collection up and up and up more for personal satifaction then monetary gain. Thank you all once again!! I appreciate it an hope to learn a thing or two along the way

I too say if you want a graded one, just buy a graded one. The cost of having yours graded may end up being more than it's worth.

That is a very good thing you did Most new collectors would rather spend money on coins than books but a numismatic library is an invaluable resource.

I figured it was my best option to get the books. It's a lot to take in!! I know I won't learn overnight and that's why more times then not I'll be back on the forum asking questions!!
