Russ, It was a good thing the grandkids consumed my afternoon yesterday. It was on my watch list and I placed the initial bid on it. I believe I was jogging behind the five-year old in his electric Mustang when this one closed. Quote: and the auction price was how much - if I might ask?
I believe the winning bid was $138 and change. Congrats Russ!

P.S. - The underbidder on this one is my stalker!

SeatedNut, I'm willing to bet we'd know his name if your stalker were to reveal himself, either from here or VW. Nice score, Russ, but we're kinda getting used to that with you.

The stalker is NOT me. I did not bid on this coin but was watching it. Nice grab Russ. Noel

not me either as I also had it on the watch list but never planned on bidding on it but knew what it was and thought it would have a bidding war at the end since it was so easy to see and it was already graded by ANACS and was worth a look to see what it would go for

Oh, we know who it is now. No names will be named. I don't think it's as much "stalker" as "mutual interests," and it's not worth hashing out.

yeah I think it has been proven many times that they share the same interest

Nope, no names will be named. But Russ and I will change our tactics ... no more early bids. We'll just be there at the end. Another adaptation ... If there's a bid on a listing, I'll check the bidders ID and if I see this persons ID, I'll place that coin on my watch list. Payback's a xxxxx (joy).

By definition the one I won is a Vam-18 the crack can almost not be seen unless you catch the coin at just that right angle. The bay photos made it look like the 18a, but it is not. The 2011 supplement had a revision of this coin in it. Key word "displacement" was added. So this is the EDS and the other one I have is the LDS or Vam-18a here is a link to the coins showing the 2 coins http://www.vamworld.com/message/view/home/56427832

Russ, That's too bad. Still, I'm not feeling too sorry for you. An MS61 18 for that price is still a kill!

From what I can see, as well as have been told the EDS is much harder to find in MS. I am to understand this is the 3rd known with out displacement... and the pre-polished reverse die... So I am Happy!!

I am going to tell you that you are lucky at that price because it would have been at least 100 dollars more (and that's just from myself) than that if I didn't have to pay my settlement to my now ex-wife around the same time this was over. It being graded by ANACS at that grade and there being no question it was at least a 18 or 18a I got a little excited when I saw it

I know this might be off topic, but Bryan1315 you sir have an amazing Dansco7070 collection. I can't imagine how much time/money you have invested in that book. Looks great!!
