Seller has a good rating but hasn't sold anything in almost a year and most of his sales are not coins.

I'm guessing he's a 'liquidator' type who sells whatever he finds so probably just wanted a quick sale. This ebay listing lasted less than an hour.

just curious. What is so special about this set?
How about the wedding, holiday set?

I bought 2011 wedding set 2 months ago at 1/2 price.

I think it's audience and appeal. More people are born than get married or celebrate a holiday. Plus as was mentioned, this is the first of the baby sets to have an engraved coin and the design is very well done.

Over the years, many of the Tiny Treasures/ Baby sets have held their value (though you can find them occasionally slightly above and below issue price) because lots of people give them as a gift to celebrate a birth and lots of people find it interesting to have a set from their own birth year.

Still, the 2011 is obviously the most valued of the Baby sets by far.

The wedding sets are a mystery to me. Dunno why they exist. Not sure that many people would celebrate their wedding with coins or that a $19.95 coin set in a cardboard holder would be much of a wedding gift. Maybe the RCM should try a 'celebrate your divorce' set. It would likely sell better.

Talking about the uncirculated baby sets. I know that the proof silver sets sell for several hundred though I haven't seen any sell as high as $700.

But the uncirculated Baby Gift set for 2007 with the painted rattle is selling well recently. On ebay, it's been going for between $80-125.

Wish that I had seen that listings for $29.95

I would have loved to get this set at a reasonable price. Beautiful set, but not worth what people are asking IMHO.

instead of paying few hundread bucks for the set.
it is better to spend that money for the child, buy some gifts, toys, games. Or buy gold jewelry, bullions that can hold value.

Does anybody have one of these 2011 Born in Canada sets that you would be willing to sell at a reasonable price? Or know where I could find one at a reasonable price?

I went to buy one when my daughter was born in 2011 and was told not to buy one as a friend was buying it for us as a gift, said gift was never received and now I am kicking myself for not purchasing it. I now have three kids and have bought the same set for my other two and feel bad for not having one for my daughter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, Ray

This is what I went with instead:

Bigger coin, and 1/2 oz pure silver. And probably cheaper then the baby gift set.
