Not me I think Lincoln cents are one of the ugliest coins and have no desire to collect them EVER.

I will buy rolls when I find them at 2 to 2.5 cents each penny. I have 10 rolls dated 1918 through early twentys that I haven't searched yet. Paid $20 for all 10 rolls, though.

I always felt $2 a roll was a fair price but It looks like others do better than that.

I buy them from a dealer at $190 per $50 face. I know he is not searching them as I got a 31-s and several semi keys in my last one. The one I picked up Saturday has netted a 10-s, 12-s, 13-s, 14-s, and 22-d, so far and I have just started going through it.

Last time I bought wheat cents I believe I paid 3.5 cents a piece. They were all S mint and in EF40 (XF-40) with a few UNC's in the lot. Actually it was a bag...maybe a 5lb. sack. Cost me $100.00. Hard to remember without looking for receipt.

That is awesome jleveille! Sounds like you got a good source. I'd love to get a bag someday. but with my luck it would probably be a searched bag of mostly 40's and 50's.

I'd love to buy, but the premium (300% of face? YIKES) is too high for me.

300% face isn't much. Think about a silver dime at melt value. that's about 2,500% of face. if I did my math correctly.

Yeah, but it's a lot for my budget. Or put another way, you could probably buy a Morgan and not think twice about it. I have to rebudget my groceries just to buy a common.

I sometimes get a few rolls from my dealer for $3.50 per roll.
I know i'ts a bit expensive but I've gotten quite a few dates from the 20's and 10's as well as a considerable amount of steel pennies, so I'm not too discouraged by the price. The oldest one I've gotten so far is a 1914 plain.
