Just picked up a bundle of 100 about 70% were consecutive the other were also consecutive but must of been mixed with another bundle as they were off by about 4000.  |

Ive got one Journey $20 in about UNC condition thats a radar note. thats all I'm going to keep for that series.
Ive got my hands on a few $20 Polymers, crappy serial numbers :( going to try and get a stack from some banks tomorrow.

I was excited for the note, but to be honest, seeing one in hand, not so much. I will hold on to the crisp one I sleeved, as a placeholder for a radar, and leave it at that. I wonder if our polymers will see anywhere near the action the Aussie ones do?

yes I would agree. The $100 polymer looks the best IMO. The $50 is very nice as well. I'm excited for the 10 and 5, high hopes haha

Which RBC did you go to? Two of my branches here in Montreal charge me around 15$ per pack of 100 notes. @ BAANOS yes, to take out $20k I'd be charged interest for one day as long as the cash goes back within 24 hours. I'm amazed your RBC branches can charge you $15 per pack! Is that a "service charge" because its a pack of 100? I finally got a stack of 50 of the new 20's at my local RBC, nothing worth keeping but I came close to a few radars:    |

Oh, I don't think we're referring to the same thing then. I actually went to another RBC branch yesterday and I was told that there it costs 11$ and it's not a withdrawal, it's an order. You ask the RBC branch to place an order for you and they have the Bank of Canada deliver them a pile of 100 brand new bank notes wrapped with the official Bank of Canada band. They also told me that the RBC is charged 11$ by the Bank of Canada to place the order, so that's why they charge me for it.
I don't know if that makes sense to any of you or if it's a rip-off and actual RBC branches do not normally charge you this amount.

Got three in sequence from the ATM tonight. Interesting notes - the Queen's hologram is noteworthy (pun intended).
The bills definitely feel odd and will take a bit to get use too but I think they are really cool. Way better than the typical US Jackson.

@baanos: no wonder they make a billion profit per quarter.  I'm going to RBC today to return these bills and try to get 50 more and I'll ask about the $11 "order charge"...that's outrageous! |

I went through about $200 in the new polymers at work and all were BIR prefix sequential but useless serials. Going to keep hunting. Lots of these bills are coming from the ATMs

@ Baanos, I asked at RBC about the $11 charge for ordering bills and they had no idea what I was talking about, she said there is no such charge and they dont have to pay this when ordering from Bank of Canada, but maybe this one teller is not aware of it.
In the mean time I've gone through a few hundred polymer 20's with no luck. They dont arrive in perfect sequence so even if you order 1000 there's no guarantee you'd get a radar (radar odds are one in a thousand). Baanos, I'd pay $11 to get 1000 bills in their original BOC wrappers, that would be cool!

I think you're not getting charged the $11 (other than the teller possibly not knowing) is that it's because you're making a standard withdrawal, but for a large amount in a low denominition bill.
So really it's like any person withdrawing $50,000 cash at the bank, but they need to call in a few days ahead first. :)

Two RBC branches confirmed in Montreal who charge 11$ for an UNC strap of 100 banknotes. I do not think it is a mistake. Both the Place Ville-Marie branch and the Westmount square branch quoted me this amount. The charge is not because of a massive withdrawal, but rather because it's a specific order placed at the BoC. Also, at the RBC it is free to just withdraw any amount in a specific denomination, as long as they have it in their machines.
If you have never heard of this charge, perhaps your branch does not offer such service as I know some RBC branches do not. I am just surprised that no one else has been able to confirm this here on the forum.

Saw one on Wednesday. I'm not going to bother picking up any. They will be slipping out of the peoples' hands in due time. I hate these new polymer notes.
