Beautiful exonumia. Thanks for sharing. But yikes! You shouldn't be palming nor putting your fingers on their surfaces.

This may help you, re: Masonic Medal

In 1902 there was a fire in downtown Waterbury. Many buildings suffered damage, including the old Masonic Temple.
Perhaps this medal commemorates the restored/rebuilt Temple.

Does your family have roots in Connecticut?

I'm also a Matthew and I live in New Haven, CT.
Sometimes you have to think outside of the box to find explanations to your questions. Good luck and welcome.

This is the correct way to hold a coin - always by the edge and over a soft surface. A towel if you have nothing else
available.

You can use gloves or even a cotton sock but touching the fields with your hand exposes them to the oils in your skin that will leave handling marks on them later. That said you do have some nice medals and the Levick token is quite desirable. Congrats on your inheritance and did I get that right you have duplicates?

I am no expert on any of these tokens or medals but if you are planning on using a site like ebay make sure you sell a few things on there first. There are a lot of tricky things when selling. sell something cheap that you dont mind losing just to get the hang of listing and ways to describe your item.

@ matthewvincent yes actually I do have a lot of family roots in Connecticut, its odd I have yet to see a site or find someone with that exact same medal
I'm guessing its very rare, an its really annoying I have yet to find any substantial amount of information on it.

@cointagous yes I do have 2 of each of most of them, I think I have another Levick token somewhere in of my boxes.

yeah I didnt think some fat guy smoking weed, would be worth so much ahah. I am tempted to sell the levick token, since I have more then one.
For some reason I dont think ebay is place to sell things like these.

Wow! I would bid on the one with the Ships. That's my favorite! What's the history behind it, anyone? Absolutely gorgeous collection you have there!

The Levick token is a pre civil war merchant of which I collect. So if you do part with one I'm interested but as always follow CCF rules on this. Love many of the large medals but that is an area I know little about and prices/interest in each vary depending on the collector. I'm still curious why someone would buy duplicates unless they had intended on giving matching sets to their heirs.

Well I am defiantly gonna part with one an sell it for sure. I just don't know how the Levick smoker token is, however I think they bought 2 just in case one got lost or something.
I was my dads great grandfather who was alive during the Crimean war who actually acquired a lot of these. yeah, id shoot you a pm, but I dont have 100 posts yet to sell
