Quote: huh. Is this person for real!!
Yeah I've noticed lately a number of posters have trouble communicating in English like canuckIus and canadiancoin, these two communicate in French and seem to struggle with English posts. Evidently English is a second language to some here. It is difficult to understand them, but I encourage them to keep posting, hoping their English skills improve.

I guess even the trolls speak English in this forum.

uwo- if it were me I would buy the US 5 oz. They have a nice proof finish and currently are selling for $183 @ JCS gold. Because of the bigger US market, it is easier to dispose of when you need to cash in.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions! It's very diificult to make decision. The 5oz beaver is sold out at Canada Post now. Do you think it going to be like the 5 oz penny?

This is just my personal opinion.. The 5oz penny was an hot item right from the beginning, dealers raised the price within a day if not immediately, a lot of ebay listings were ended higher than release price. But for the 5oz Beaver, most of the dealers like J&M, CA and GW are still selling it at release price ($519.95), I couldn't find any ebay completed listing with a price higher then the release price. So I think you could see which one is hot and which one is not. BTW, if you really like the 5oz beaver, CA have 26! in stock, selling at release price, and they are running a free shipping promotion for this coin as well, and you could pay by paypal. Just FYI and this is just my 2 cents.

I said it a few times but I'll say it again, I am not sure who buy all these 5oz beaver. I did another quick search on ebay and many of them goes unsold if the asking price is more than 519.00. You usually can get a sense from various forum if everyone is buying. But from this forums and other forums, I only see people posting they have no interest in the 5oz beaver.

I purchased both of these 5 oz coins. I think the penny one will hold its value but I love the design on the beaver one. I have no intention of selling either one.

There is nothing special in 5oz Beaver coin. Except the design. I've visited the Canadian Coins and Currency and seen it in personal. Excited by the detailed Beaver visualisation. But in order to add the Beaver to other animals, 1oz coin is enough and it is looks nice together with all "Coin and Stamp" series, with "Arctic Fox" set, "Lynx" set, Bateman's "Moose". Bought 5oz 1 Penny as a tribute and 1oz Beaver. IMO, for 5oz collection the ATB coins will be the best choice.

if you look at spot only you would never by a RCM 5 oz. its design, topic, and appeal also limited mintage. the rest of the worlds 5oz. are almost all high mintage bullion coins.
