I personally only give it a 62, but PCGS had another idea I guess. Phoenix

So it is probably going to be on the 65+ side?

I can't go that far. But I can say, it is higher than Poor1 and lower than MS70. Seriously, I'll give a hint. It is higher than MS61. Good luck all. Phoenix

I think the actual grade on this coin is MS64PL. I think PCGS gave it a grade of MS67PL, which would allow for their inflation of CC mint marked coins.

Lol, I agree. It isn't MS 67, but this one is a proven fact that even the top TPGs aren't perfect, and can still overgrade. I'll let this go on for another day or so, and see if anyone guesses it. Thanks everyone so far. Phoenix

I think that it should be a 64-PL. However, I think that it got a 66.

Unfortunatly, no, you don't get the coin. I only wish it was my coin, but it isn't. But you get the satisfaction of getting the correct answer lol. Sorry. Phoenix

Hmmm. Kinda flat for a Carson City coin, but up until lately PCGS was pretty enthusiastic with CC Morgans. MS65, not PL.

Are the marks on the face frost breaks? If so, ms65 is not unreasonable, and the ole Carson City bump brings her to ms66. Would love to see the reverse, if very PQ it could account for a half grade bump which would also explain the grade.

Without seeing the reverse it's tough to give an accurate guess. PCGS is loose on "common CC Morgans so I'll go withe MS66PL grade. I an anxious to see the grade revealed. Mike

Alrighty everybody! Here is the grade and pic. It is a... 65. Not a half bad grade, but still a little high. But still, I think it is a very nice looking Morgan to say the least. Here is the pic: http://www.fastcoin.com/MW/1880_CC-...6-110305.jpgPhoenix

MS 62.
How they can assign grades by 1s is beyond me. But if I saw enough coins I am sure I could come up with a scale of some sort.
There is a cut in the field under the chin, or am I seeing things?
I prefer they good ol MS 60, MS 63, and MS 65. After that it is all guess work for me.
I have some Morgans but to buy them in this market is insane. I bought my Frnaklins in the last big silver run and have regretted it ever since.
This is a coin seller's market.

Yep, it is there. One of the reasons I feel it is overgraded. Still, a pretty Morgan all the same. Phoenix
