I like this one the most of the old Chinese coins you have recently posted.

One drawback that a lot of people notice with cash coins is that the characters are difficult to interpret or boring or just plain too foreign to be interesting.

With this coin, the characters are intriguing or outright bizarre. . .

I like the style of the characters on the Wang Mang coins as well. You're right though, many of them look the same unless you become somewhat familiar with the Chinese characters. Which is why I'm not going to collect too many of them. Just a few of them that look unique such as this coin.

I'm glad you like the coin.

Bad news. The dealer told me that one of the coins was already sold and had been re-listed by mistake when VCoins upgraded. It's probably one of the $6 coins because that's what the refund was. He didn't even contact me in advance to replace the coin with something else. I emailed him asking him which one. Usually, he doesn't answer emails.

I just hope this isn't the coin that isn't coming.

Downer, from what I've seen recently Vcoins is getting a bit sloppy!

I'm hoping to have some stuff to share soonish.

Having trouble understanding everything atm but sure it will sink in, trying to find some good resources on line.

With a major upgrade like that, there are going to be major bugs for awhile. Assuming that the developers are fairly competent, it's going to be awhile to work out the bugs. It's like patching a new site over an old one, more or less. There are going to be problems.

But I am still annoyed about the coin because he never told me which one so I wonder. lol

This is an interesting coin to me because it shows the earlier pictographic origins of Chinese characters.
Personally, I find all ancient cultures interesting because it helps me understand the contrasts and context of my own heritage.
Windchild, you're correct how many Europeans have mixed origins--there were a lot of tribal migrations over the last 2000+ years, and present national boundaries encompass a lot of different tribes and families. Despite nationalistic stereotypes, there is a lot of diversity.

I would love coins of my ancestral homeland but alass there are none...in the early middle ages, they set out from the far North and well...just took other peoples coins...

Oh well. This is the coin that did not arrive. I had a feeling it was this one, not sure why. Yes, my coins did arrive after I got home from some tests I had to get done at the hospital.

Later on I'm going to get another one of these. But honestly, I really liked this one so it's kind of a disappointment.

You still have some options if you want a "Wang Coin." I like this one but there are others...

Shame, always seems to be the one you want when this happens.

I'm still looking in to these but finding it fun and very confusing

Haha, yes Chinese coins are very confusing. I'm sticking to the more common types to avoid confusion as much as possible.

Oh well, one coin goes, another comes in it's place another day.
