The best ammo box sources are gun shows, army-navy stores and military surplus vendors. Also look in Amazon under "ammo can" and "military surplus ammo can." The best prices will be at gun shows and the stores. On rare occasions, maybe even a local gun dealer. If nothing else, at least get a plastic fishing tackle box or a tool box. They're a lot cheaper and the point is keeping your stuff together to avoid repetitions of what you just did.

i looked on Amazon about an hour ago and looked at some reviews, some people said they received some that were in horrible condition and some were in good condition, I asked my friend that works at a gunshop and he said they dont sell ammo cases, ill try to find a military surplus store

Hey before I re-placed my windows; I had metal springs made for em special for when I needed to replace one. So I told me wife I would put em away when I needed them. I put em away alright. Eventually I got new windows in the whole house and found em 6 years later. So you will find it unless you were out on the street and someone else found it. Hope it shows up Gl.

Glad you found it! You can get ammo boxes at fleet farm. I have several and they are perfect for storing my copper cents and other whatnots. I think I paid $10 each for the ones that are about 6 X 10 X 12

I Use mtmcase-gard hard plastic ammo cans all the time, just over a foot long and 8 inches across. The sticker say it holds well over 30 pounds and I can personally attest to that part ( closer to 50 ) there are 2 places for padlocks and the ammo "can" is all plastic. I found them on Amazon, or if your interested just look up the name 4 and a half stars out of 5 on Amazon in case anyone wants to know.

I lost my overstruck Peace dollar pocket piece for a week once and the last place I know I had it was in my pocket at the bank when I was getting my money out to pay for some boxes of halves but I didn't rememebr hearing it bounce off of the floor. I found it a week in the sam epairof pantsin the same pocket but it had slid into to top of the pocket corner and wedged itself in there somehow. I did drop it in the bank parking lot a few months laterwhich put a nice rim ding in it which makes me wonder how all of those non dinged up dollars survived all of these years to make it into problem free slabs.

OK no laughing... A few times I've fallen asleep apparently while looking at a coin and found it under the bed a few days later.... (In a slab! not a raw coin..haha)

I just found a 1933 Portugese coin that I lost last year. What a great feeling!
