2011-P Reverse Proof probably the best long term purchase. However, for the most 'bang for your buck', probably the 2012 is better (comparing availability & price vs mintage). You can also wait for the 2013 but it's a lot more risky, as some members mentioned, mintage can be significantly higher.
Why not get all the Reverse Proof that you can (it's still early in the series)? Down the road, as the series continue and attract more collectors, we will see an increase in mintage; which would also mean the Reverse Proof of 2011-P, 2012-P, 2006-P will be the top 3 keys of the series.
Just my 2cents.

The Perth Mint has been doing reverse proofs for more than 20 years. I have recently seen a 1991 One Ounce bullion platinum Koala that was presented in this manner.

The US Mint isn't exactly innovative when it comes to new types of coins especially compared to the Perth Mint who does a lot of stuff I dont even know if the US has considered

Well thanks to you guys I just picked up the 2012 set in NGC PR69. Average price on ebay seems to be $165 - $170 for auctions. I paid $168 with free shipping. So in theory I only paid maybe $10 more than if I had ordered back in 2012 direct from the mint?

Nick you did real good on those for the price you paid. You wouldnt have been able to get them from the mint and have them graded for that price. I do like the black NGC holders and think silver looks great in them too. I hate the white ones though and dont understand why they dont keep them all black

Really a beautiful reverse proof. I guess I can see what all the fuss is about now. Yeah the black holders are nice, makes me want to keep the silver on display, more so than white would. I'm going to keep an eye out on the 2011 and 2006 reverse proof prices. I dont think I would buy the whole 2011 set at one time but maybe I could piece it together over time after I got the proof... Yeah thats my dog Chelsea. Great dog. I help German Shepherds get adopted too, if anyone in the Southern California area wants to adopt, check out http://gsrescue.org/

If you arent picky about the 2011 and 2006 sets not all the coins are unique too it. You can save a little bit of money just getting the unique coins and then getting the regular coins if you keep an eye out as opposed to getting a set all at once. That works for graded too the others just wont say anniversary set on the label

@Cali Nick: Nice purchase. The market for 2012-S set is depressed right now but considering the mintage, I'm sure they will be important semi-key to the series. Btw, if you are looking for the 2011-S and Reverse Proofs, I have some spare one that I am looking to sell (haven't get the time to post on here and Craigslist yet). I'm in SoCal (OC, near Knotts), may be we can meet up....

But if you would consider taking 90% junk silver in trade... I think the deal is made :)
