I just completed mine about 2 months back with an AU '50-D. Now to build a complete AU-MS set from circulation... that's a real challenge.

I did it minus the 43s which I got from my dad, but have since found several. I was in a hurry to do it and didn't take long.

I did finish two sets from circulation around 2009-2010.

I filled my Dansco 7113 with all circulation coin roll hunted finds. I have since upgraded them all to BU. I should have bought a second album and made a circulation set but instead, I cashed in the 70's and newer and rolled the 60's and older and put them away for a rainy day.

Congratulation's to everyone who has completed there collection and good luck to everyone still trying to complete them. I did some quick math and for every 1950 D that was minted 720 1964 D's were minted.

Quote: Im just missing two, the 1950D and 1939D and 1945 D You mean three? Anyway, I'm only doing the 1938-1961 set right now but I'm getting pretty close. I need 9 more to completely fill the folder and none of them are easy. 1938-D, 1938-S, 1939-D, 1939-S, 1943-D, 1944-D, 1944-D, 1949-S, and the granddaddy of them all, the 1950-D.

On the 1938--61 sets I have 3 finished all from circulation.The first one I didnt have to buy one single coin..The other 2 I had to buy several of the low mintage keys..This 4 th set I need 18 coins to finish it and there all the tough ones.

@CrazyCat
The 1955P was my third last and hence 3rd hardest to find. I had a 1950-D UNC in a 2 X 2 from 20 years ago so I can only assume I bought it as I have yet to find one of those in a roll to date.
2 more to go and always on the lookout for upgrades in every roll.

Yeah, the 1955-P was pretty difficult for me to find. Took me over $2000 to get just one.

'55 plains are tough, but I have about a roll of them. I attribute that to living so close to Philly.

I've been after a complete bank roll circulation Jefferson set for over 5 years now ... started in Feb 2008 and am lacking two coins to seal the deal ... 1938-S and 1943-D. I've kept detailed track of my progress ... currently at 288,800 nickels searched ... I used to post an update on my find rates every 10,000 coins ... must have become lazy since my last update was at 260,000 coins searched ... you can read it here: https://goccf.com/t/105767Promise to post a detailed update when I pass 290,000 coins. I'm enjoying the nickel search quest. David
