@ Arianzo the graded 69, was sold by a friend of mine, Keith has many bargain auctions, collectors should watch his auctions as there are many deals. He has the year of the snake ends in 5 hrs it's at $50 currently. I picked up a NGC pr69 for $49 from another friends auction. This coin is truly outstanding, I just don't get it why it commands so little respect! Yesterday another friend got around $48 US each for 2 NGC pr69 coins. If I had the money, I would of grabbed them also. However, Sman and nov. releases have tapped disposable cash. I love the details and the fact the images tell a complete story when related to the title. This coin is my favorite for 2013 followed by the 1st banknote and then 1st tradition of hunting coin. The nice thing about these 3 coins is they are affordable !

@Silveroid: Personally, I would stay away from storing my coins in a leather wallet/holder. The dyes and other chemicals used in preparing the leather can cause fumes/vapors to escape from the leather and negatively impact stored coins (even if they are still in their capsules).
I believe, over time, you would find that your coins tone while being housed in the leather holder. You might like the effect, you might not. I try to avoid creating such situations for my coins.

Thank you all for valuable inputs. So not surprising, that these (probably old pouches/cases) haven't been used and proposed for sale. Surprising, that RCM didn't make any other branded special case for the Silver Dollars.

@Silveroid If you're still interested in that leather case, cdncoin has a Black Friday sale this week. It's now only $38.88. If you want it, now is the time.

But,I wanted just to point out that you can get easily this coin at 60-80% of issue price so I don't get how some people is still waiting for the RCM to ship the coin to them instead of cancel it right now and buy it with ebay. I asked your friend about a graded coin he has. He says that it doesn't come with the COA. I understand that as the coin is graded, it's into a holder so he isn't giving the clamshell but I don't get what he need the COA for?

Thank you a lot. I saw this and my interest started from this sale. And ended after some points that members here have raised.

@ Arianzo, the graded coins Keith has are extras he got in the states and doesn't want anymore. This is how he bought them. I have a friend in Az who sends a bunch of coins in to get grade and just gets rid of boxes and COA's . He's trying to do a registry set, what ever that is. He tells me us Canucks are always asking about boxes & COA's on graded coins. He cannot figure out our fascination with the stuff, when it's a graded coin! I'm included, as I offered extra if he could find the packaging, but alas too much work and extra shipping expense. I thought I'd just answer your question, and say I also ask for COA's if I know it's the person sending them in for grading! I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing a couple graded ones that went for $50.

@pockchange50, I guess I am as well a bit of a stickler when it comes to original packaging and COA's. I just feel to is one more step in avoiding the fakes. Graded and slabbed coins aren't always immune either!

This is very true, I doubt places like modern coin mart or first strike coins gives the original packing either. It would be interesting too find out, if dealers that submit batches of coins would give the COA's or original packaging if requested. This is an interesting point, as how many people buying a slabbed coin, would request the original packaging? I have seen both Canadian and US dealers reselling the original packaging on ebay , and I assume it's from graded coins. @ Arianzo I just thought you were coming from a collector, who wants the original packaging to go along with your coin. It never occurred to me in regards to a counterfeit slab. I know this does happen, I doubt it does for the cheaper coins. You have definitely brought up some interesting points to consider.

However, if it's only used for a set of $20 for $20 coins, I think it might be a risk worth taking. I ordered one and am willing to chance it. After all, it's possible nothing will transfer through the mint's incredibly secure plastic capsules. Well..., I guess I'll be checking them frequently.

I'll wait for your picture, NuMoosematist.
Curious, how the coins will appear there.
As for Silver Dollars - yes, I will avoid causing any (even theoretical) harm to them.
The "20for20" ... buying 24-slotted case forcing to continue the series, and I already have case for ten first coins, while the next items will buy selectively (not all the series).

I thought I'd just answer your question, and say I also ask for COA's if I know it's the person sending them in for grading! I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing a couple graded ones that went for $50. Well, firstly, COA means Certificate of Authenticity. So, it's not just a piece of paper. Secondly, the COA explains the history behind the coin, about the design. The COA give the technical details like weight, mintage, diameter, material, etc. I can't find nothing about that in the graded coin holder. If my coin is graded, I agree that the box, sleeve or whatever comes with, is worthless EXCEPT the COA. Quote: pocket change 50 @ Arianzo I just thought you were coming from a collector, who wants the original packaging to go along with your coin. Check this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Canada...141124015021 As you see in the 3rd picture, he's giving the COA with every graded coin. No box (I understand that). The problem with sets like this is that if you sell the coins individually you just have 1 COA like here for example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-5-NGC-...200991604378In the description the seller writes: "You will receive ONLY THE $5 1 ounce coin in NGC PF69 EARLY RELEASES Reverse Proof . CERT #'S WILL VARY AS WE HAVE MORE THEN 1 SET TO SELL.". Now, what I was thinking in fact is not only that I do want the COA. I was thinking what does the seller who graded the coins does with the COA? The box I know he sells it individually as we see in ebay but having this COA's "flying around" is very dangerous. I don't want to think about these Chinese counterfeit producers buying them or maybe the sellers who buy this counterfeit coins having access to this original COA's. I mean, I think that we as collectors and dealers have a certain degree of responsibility with all the original stuff we receive.

@arianzo, I totally agree, If you are selling a coin from the RCM and have it Third Party Graded, fair enough! But keep the original COA with it. They should always be bought and sold together.

I have seen this summer a couple smaller eastern dealers, selling the empty packaging with the COA's. I too like having the COA's for my coins when possible. I've seen US dealers selling empty packaging/COA's as well. I just never have it any real thought. However, very valid concerns have been raised. I will have to pass this along to my friend who gets his coins graded. I like the COA's for the same reason you do. Brings me to Another thought what happens when sets are broken up, like your examples. With only 1 COA should the seller send a photo copy of the COA and sign to its authenticy? Then you still have no concrete proof when you choose to sell. It will happen one day whether its you or heirs. I never realized there were so many ways at looking at the details when buying on ebay. I'd love others to weigh in with their opinions too. I learn something each time I visit the forum!

You bring up another very good point on mint sets as I was concentrating more on the silver singles!Ideally a copy of the COA should be produced with each coin from that set.
I personally would like to see the COA included with any slabbed and graded coins
