hajduk, after seeing jersey, you might end up wishing you never left Germany in the first place.
Beautiful nationals though, I love the reverse greenback of those $20s nationals much more than the front.

BisonMatt, those could be fighting words for the two people who run this site "Mom & Dad of CCF"
Maybe a couple of days off for you! LOL
Hajduk, nice historical notes all the way from Germany!

Where did you find your Dover $20? I've been looking for one like that for a while. Congrats on the pickups!

These Bills I bought in Switzerland on an Internet auction.
They were not very expensive, about $50. :-)
I knew that these Notes are quite special and have contacted several dealers in the US to learn more about it.
A dealer offered $ 800.
After that, I was even happier and knew that I will not sell.
Then I wanted more Nationals.
So far I've only been in Miami and from Florida I still have no National Bill. :-(
But like all collectors, I'm on the hunt.
There are not many Nationals in Europe.
I buy the most of them in the United States. This is not always easy.
Some do not want to export to Europe and the German customs works for the Ministry of Finance.
Sometimes I have to pay + 19% tax.
But they give me pleasure .....
( Sorry for my bad English! )

Those are awesome. The grade is better than average and the banks are far from easy to find.

Hajduk, you must have one heck of a nationals collection if you are posting all of these different notes all day long.
I don't mind it one bit as I could look at them all day long. Have any NY nationals?

Hi Woodford,
No, I do not have many but I'm glad to show my "children" for the people which are interested in it.
For sure, there are people here in Europe which like my american Bills.
But if I show my Bills in this Community, that is like back to the roots.
When I pick a new beautiful American there is no one who shares my joy or really able to appreciate the bills.
I have no New York Charter Note.
The reason is New York is not always but mostly very common.
So I am waiting for a really good XF-UNC Large Size Bill for a good price.
OK, I have naturally this one;
Perhaps the most common charter note.

It is hard to believe that "common" national bank notes are still available at will for under $100. What a great hobby.

Usually there is no chance to buy large size nationals in mid condition for less than $100.
Not in Europe and even less in the US.
I think so.
The best prices could I find in Europe but there is only a small selection.
I also think that $ 200+ for a common large Size $5 3. Charter Note in VF conditon is completely OK.
These are old bills, what means common there?
The charter Bills are always in small editions.
Sometimes more, sometimes less.
The US bills can be extremely expensive. But if you observe the market and you do not buy anything you have a good chance that the value will rise.
Do not buy anything, wait, watch and take.
Collecting is like hunting, stalking slowly and strike with good opportunity.
But the Nationals, that is so crazy.
I always think,
a small State, States with little industry, not so much charter banks, Towns which have not so much population,
that is always special.
Sometimes that is true, sometimes not.
I'm not a profi for the Nationals, I buy by feel.
The Nationals are my favorites.
When I come next time in the US I go for hunt nationals.
Sorry, only the Bills!
I want a Bill from the First National Bank of Hamburg Pennsylvania Charter 9028 because The First National Bank of Hamburg Iowa Charta 2364 is for sure to expensive.
One day I get one..
Again sorry for my very, very special english.
