One of my favourites is the Ram's Head design from Australia. It's been used a few times. Pre-decimal Shilling 1938 - 1963 1991 50 Cents 2011 One Dollar _Australia__1_-_Mint_Your_Own.jpg) Steve

Nice coins Triggeramob! I like that design as well - got the shilling and 50c but never seen the dollar before. Here are a couple from Argentina - 1 centavo 1888 and the very same Liberty head reappearing on the 50 centavos of 1983...

The eagle on the Barber quarter has always reminded me of Sam the Eagle from the Muppet Show. Here's the only profile shot I could find. It's Jim Henson's original sketch. What do you think? Was Henson inspired by the Barber quarter?

8 escudos, Argentina, 1813. A very valuable gold coin and the first to be minted by Argentina as an independent state. In 1994, this design was reused on the bimetallic Argentine peso - with the theme of "First Coins of Argentina". The silver ring has the legends and the brass center is a faithful reproduction of the design. And a fun fact: this peso has crude letters that closely mimic those of the 8-escudos, but the one I own has neatly done modern letters.
