with hundreds of thousands of millionaires in the country 1000oz of silver - is for poor )))
until those big bucks are robbed no one would go after 30kg wealth worth 30k :)

Congrats, the first thousand is always the toughest. When you get to 10k then you have to question your sanity as I have.

I store some in the bank, some in vault, and about half is buried in the ground.

Crazy? I'm a night person so I prefer the term lunatic, myself ;)

Barry, I've thought about maybe using the bulk of my savings from a work related injury settlement that's coming my way to buy a modest rental property. But I have zero experience in that sort of venture. Ideally, I'd like to find an up and coming company or or even an established blue-chipper that I trusted and invest in stocks; but it feels unwise to jump in at the moment.

Congrats on reaching such an amazing goal! What is your average $ cost per ounce? Or does anyone else know what their average is (cost $ per ounce) over the months/years of accumulating?

Does anyone keep track or care to keep track? I imagine premiums, dealer's cut, shipping costs, etc. would need to be taken into account...

Allspice,

I keep track of every coin purchase, total cost, weight of coin, date purchased, total coin count, cost per ounce, you name it. At the moment, I'm currently averaging around $30 an oz. I actually remember a time not too long ago when that figure was still in the teens. But tastes change and unfortunately for my wallet, my typical silver purchase now runs more in line with $50-100 per oz. Hoping silver keeps tanking so those higher cost proofs start coming down in price a little.

Interesting to note you seem to have always bought for the love of the different designs and such, and the metal content has always been shall we say secondary to you....

And there fore you have bought much when the price was WAY right shall we say and that stack has the real potential to be worth big money again someday when the pms take off again....

And yes someday they will track back up again as simple laws of phyics always come into this game and it is just this simple-what goes up must come down. And humans always love to send things back up again as it is just in their nature....

I also recall you having a most extensive collection of some of the more odd silver items etc. and a vast variety which again will pay off in long run I figure....
