Trout, ole fella: Since you are from Withenshawe, perhaps you should give some consideration to British coins of the 19th Century. It is a fascinating and extensive series. Like a giant, you could stand with a foot firmly planted in each country.

I recently secured a Star Pagoda for my Proclamation set and discovered that there were some other different types of these Gold Pagodas that can be considered as ‘Proclamation" Coins. This is another type I picked up, It is from the same era as the Star coin and is the same weight. These are the sellers pic's I will take better images when the coin arrives. It was listed as "Rare" BUT the phrase is bandied about on ebay to describe quite ordinary coins at times so I take that with a grain of Salt. Is this coin in fact scarcer/Rarer than my Star Pagoda Seller description and Pic This is a lovely gold Pagoda from the Indian Princely State of Arcot. It is 11 mm in diameter and weighs 3.42 grams. The coin is from the reign of Muhammad ‘Ali (1751 - 1795 CE) and features three deities on the obverse and the Arabic letter ‘ayn on the reverse on a granulated field. The letter ‘ayn is the initial letter of ‘Ali. The coin grades a lustrous AU or better. It is KM 14, which includes values only to VF, and Zeno 125200 (this coin). A choice example of a scarce type of Indian gold.

I have a DSLR camera coming with a special lens to take coin pic's coming to upgrade my point and shoot unit that I am using at the moment. I should be able to get some nice shots with this setup when the coin arrives from the states

This is for Sel The Pagoda has arrived from the US Stunning detail on such a small old coin. Very hard to image because it doesn't sit flat :dash1: Here it is alongside my other coin. I have NO idea of the grade for this but it looks just as good if not better than the Star Coin.

I was a little concerned as to if this coin was Genuine when I purchased it. I have since received some Provenance/History regarding this particular coin and I no longer have any concerns as to it being genuine. It turns out that this coin was sent from Moscow to be Auctioned in the US but didn't receive any bids and was listed on ebay instead of being sent back to Russia (luckily for Me) Here is the Auction listing for this coin. http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotvi...5f7145f68056

The star Pagoda appears to have old gold toning in the field behind the pellets that surround the star. That lends to the credance that this coin is authentic.
Nice coin!

You are well on your way to setting up a museum quality collection, especially the gold.

Here is a 1799 Proclamation/Colonial Penny I picked up recently. It has some "Silvering" at 10 o'clock but otherwise a nice example.

I have only been actively collecting Proclamation coins for about 3 years so I think I have done OK so far
